What the club says: Visitors to Nefyn Golf Club, with its unique 26 hole layout, have the choice of playing The Old or The New Courses.

The Old Course consists of Holes 1-10 (Old) followed by Holes 11-18 (Old) on the world famous 'Point'. It opens with a series of 4 holes running parallel with and, a times, very close to the rugged coastline, before moving inland with some testing par 4s and a challenging par 3. It then moves to The 'Point'- eight holes on a narrow peninsula with fairways and tees perched above secluded coves and tiny inlets on one side and sandy beaches on the other.

The New Course consists of Holes 1-10 (Old) followed by Holes 11-18 (New). These eight holes follow the natural contours of the headland and coastal inlet, confronting the golfer with some testing par 4s, particularly the 15th, a long, sweeping right to left dog-leg with strategically placed bunkers. All the holes enjoy the spectacular backdrop of the Snowdonia range. On the way home, the 18th hole offers golfers a stunning panoramic view of the entire golf course.

Nefyn, where the views are astounding

Arriving early before the course was open I realised this was going to be spectacular.\A lovely gentleman by the name of Darren (the club manager) said \"I think you can play the The Point course today as there\'s no wind\". More on that later. The front 9 holes on the Championship course are stunning and 6 run tightly along the coastline and what a coastline! Challenging and probably brutal in the wind.\The 8th starts to work it\'s way uphill and inland and then the 12th runs close to the shoreline but on a much higher plain. The greens are true, not overly quick but not at all slow. Now these aren\'t big greens big say Scottish links course levels but some have subtle slopes and breaks which can make a putt rather tough. The tees were heavily sanded and that for me was the only downside. At £55 a round plus 9 holes on The Point when open it\'s great value for money. I couldn\'t see much difference between this and Royal Dornoch in quality. Difference being Royal Dornoch is around £220 more expensive!\I was very impressed with the Championship course. In the words of Arnie \"I\'ll be back\".\And so to the Old course or The Point course.\9 holes of utter golf insanity. Some amazing views and a bar on the beach just in case you\'ve lost so many balls you want to give up and have a drink instead.\This 9 hole course is so difficult and tight that VERY many would never go round in level par. Did I say it wasn\'t windy? Well it was quite windy on this finger of a peninsula which sticks out onto the Irish sea. God only knows what it\'s like in 20, 30 or 40 mph? Death defying. The signage should be a tad better in my opinion on this course as I often got lost. If you take the wrong path it\'s nigh on suicidal in a buggy.\The staff were all very friendly especially the pro-shop. The food good and reasonably priced.\I rate this amongst the very best in the U.K and Wales. Plus side, everything apart from tee boxes which were average and signage on The Point course.

Fabulous course with unbelievable views

Nefyn is a fabulous golf course in amazing condition. The views are unbelievable and the course is playing so well at the moment. If you get a chance I recommend that you get down there and taste the course. They have done some great work at the clubhouse also and sitting outside in the sunshine was an unforgettable experience

Superb, just my favourite golf course in Wales even if I played it with gale force winds!

Course in fantastic condition, better than some of the local ones (mcr) in summer!

Hidden Gem Wales

Championship 18 hole course with bonus 9 holes on peninsula. Well worth playing, course in fantastic condition, greens quite slow but in great nick, friendly clubhouse and pro shop.
Sea views are something special, if the wind is blowing it's quite a challenge.

A diamond

Played this course a couple of weeks ago and Nefyn is one of the best courses I've played. The fairways were in excellent condition and the greens were superb with a few slopes and difficult pins but fair. Amazingly the bunkers were also very good and better than most courses post Covid. The wind blows hard on the first few holes which have amazing views high about the coastline. I would certainly recommend this course if you are visiting the Nefyn area. The club house also did good food and drink.
