Liked the course but had a bad experience with poor customer service. The guy in the golf shop was very rude. Not a great way to welcome visitors! Having said that the course has some really nice holes so we would give it another chance

moors valley golf course is a parkland course set in a family friendly country park. The course in it's self requires consideration from the tee. Playing for position can often be a better option than distance as the rough on the perimeters of the fairways can be very difficult to get out of.This venue would be perfect for a family day out as there is a Go ape tree climbing course for teenagers and play areas for the very young . With family cycling bike hire steam train picnic area woodland walks and food outlet the non golfers are also able to enjoy a day out. The course itself is a good test and once on the course a player would very soon lose sight of the country park. Best keep the ball on the fairway and think your way round.

Course is always a good test, with a couple of very long Par 4's that will still test any good hitters. The greens are always in good condition too and the surroundings are very peacful. I would highly reccommend giving this one a go.....and the 18th is just creaming out to be driven from the tee !

Provides an enjoyable game of golf for mid to high handicappers.
Two quite contrasting sets of nine holes.
Usually in good condition, however, some areas can be a bit soft underfoot.
Small clubhouse.
Good value Society venue.

Good course for the price. Parkland so greens bit more soft and slower than I would prefer. However the layup of the holes was well planned and was a joy (and challenge) to tee off from. Dont be put off my the first hole, which is probably the worst of the 18.

Great course with good greens and nice fairways with an interesting design. At times it felt quite easy (wide) whilst at others quite hard (tight), but overall not so hard that you were thinking where can i hit this, but challenging enough to make you stop and think about how to approach each hole. It is set in beautiful forest surroundings in the New Forest and was fairly quiet both the times that i played here (albetit during the week)

Played like a dog but had a good time...

Back with Dorset Council. This is a Municipal - which means it has limits. But within those limits its a really good course to play.

Very friendly Pro shop and helpful on tee booking. But when we got back they had shut! No one there at 6pm. Well, we knew that. But be warned.

Course very dry. Running fast. Greens did look parched but they were pretty true for the conditions. Bunkers - had sand in them. Unraked - its a municipal.

Rough - knee high. Really thick in places. If you get in the rough it will damage your score. Finding the fairway is probably key. I came back with more balls than I went with - just not the same balls.

I played like a dog - but bizarrely drove well and putted well. And I got out of the bunkers. Our best player had 38 points.

It was a good day out. We've been before. We'll go again next year.

Straightford, good condition, enjoyable

The course is fairly open without many difficult challenges. But it is very good condition, well laid out, and enjoyable to play.

Great value for money

Moors valley was in really good condition, thoroughly enjoyed it.
I would highly recommend for society groups with mid - high handicaps as it’s fairly forgiving.

A Course worth playing

I've played this course a few times and have always enjoyed playing. The course is definitely to me a course of two halves with a gentle opening two holes to a challenging and often difficult seven holes before what Is a little bit easier I feel nine. Great holiday course if you are in the area. Country Park with activities for the kids.

Firstly avoid booking a tee time for a Tuesday morning as this is Seniors morning and boy are they slow and play as a fourball
Course is in very good shape with the greens running nicely. The fairways and tees have grown in and everything is shaping up.
