Venue is beautiful, a great hotel and lesure complex. The course is fantastic. It's essentially two nines, the front nine is open and long with water and plenty of bunkers, the back nine is mature parkland with very old Oak trees and stunning views of the hotel. We played Hanbury Manor as Guests of Ray Clemence it was a great day.

A tricky course, made even trickier by the heavy rain. However the course played fast, firm and true. Plenty to make you think on each hole. Also, the gents in the pro shop were courteous and helpful, not something you get from every pro! Finally, the halfway hut could do with being improved as it has no mains water or proper toilets and being a marriot venue you would expect something a little better.

Nice Venue for a society outing
Beautifully laid out course in exceptional grounds with challenging (but not too punishing) water features all around the course. The greens were excellent and fairways immaculate, but the main complaint from our group was that the short rough was too punishing - even if you were only a yard of the green!

Fantastic facilities inside. Course was still a bit damp in places, but proved a good test all the same.
Food was fantastic and rooms very nice. leisure facilities in excellent condition.

Hadn't played for 5 years. Course was in lovely condition with super smooth greens, very impressive for late October. Nice wide fairways for big hitters, second shots tend to be more challenging. Stayed overnight inc brekkie dinner and two rounds for £145, a bargain. Food was excellent in the Grill for the money, watch the extras though like most chains they charge silly prices for drinks and extras.

Great Weekend Getaway
The course to me never matched the grandeur of the hotel and clubhouse but it seems like the are addressing that now and the course is beginning to look more in keeping with the expectations you conjure up as you drive in.
I was particularly impressed with the greens however I did not played my best I never seems to at this venue but none the less I enjoyed my round and the company that i was with.

Excellent welcome from the pro shop team, great bar and food facilities above on the terrace at Vardons. Course set up in great condition but two very different nine?s, the front much more spaced out with a more American links feel, whilst the back 9 is more traditional parkland with lush fairways compared to the harder and faster ones on the front. Good variety in the holes with plenty to think about and many of the greens with multiple tiers. Perfect venue for two rounds one night stay, hotels facilities and food all of a really good standard, would look to visit again.
