I have always had a warm welcome from the staff here and always walk off looking forward to coming back. The one main let down that I have ever seen is only the entrance to the course, it does look a bit tatty on arrival, and because of this I have always put off playing here. After my first time, I felt as if I'd robbed myself of years of a good quality golf course.

Good condition considering weather
I'm a 2nd club member at Lydd. Compared to other local courses after the ridiculous amount of rain we've seen over the past months, it is in great condition. Being a flat course at sea level (or just below), flooding can be an issue but there was standing water on two or three holes (that were 'no trolleys' as a result. The greens were heavily sanded, havign been cored recently, and slow as a result. However, I woudl expect this to improve very quickly. There has been a lot of work carried out around the course over the winter. Renovated bunkers will increase the challenge though these have not yet been completed. Removing trees and bushes in a couple of areas has opened the course out of a few holes.

A Gem of a Golf Course in Kent
The only wrong thing about Lydd is its Proximity but the rest of its Attributes it's Brilliant. This is probably the most challenging Golf Course and at the same time, a rewarding course in Kent. The tees and greens are in great condition and the layout is second to none. When the wind is up it is a monster but all categories of play will be impressed on a bright, calm day. The top Tracker range is a great way to start the day or play a round on great courses of the world on. The house facilities are exceptional, a friendly welcome from the staff is the first thing you get and the food and beverages are very good. Green fee's are sensibly priced week days and weekends. All in all, a great course and exceptional value for money.Reviewer Rating
