What the club says: There is a natural difficulty in describing how to play any seaside course owing to the changing winds. You should read the suggestions noted on each of the hole pages and perhaps they will be of some help. Although the club is located on the South Coast the course lies on a North-South Axis. It runs out for 9 holes with the prevailing South West wind at your back.

Many professional and amateur golfers have enjoyed playing this course, among them the great Harry Vardon.

A traditional links course on the Kent coast, with lots of challenges. Some tight fairways, a few blind tees where the fairway isn't visible, let alone the green, so having a member to play with is essential (as well as being a club rule). I played on a beautiful sunny say with a gentle sea breeze to contend with. I imagine it would be a very different story with a strong south-westerly blowing in! The rough was just about playable - in another month it will be past knee length and impossible to find a ball, adding to the challenge of this long-established course.

Lots of deep, well-placed bunkers that mean distance control is essential. Unless you can fly your drive 300+yds, a shorter club is often best from the tees.

Greens in excellent condition. Some patches f fairway that looked

Played here a few times over the years. I always get a warm welcome and find the Pro Shop helpful about teeing off as a single player.

QUALITY GOLF COURSE

I loved this course as it had some very interesting holes, greens were great and the club house was very traditional and friendly.

The rough was high but but still an enjoyable round.

Course in very good condition. Greens very true and tee boxes really nice. Fairways not summer bare yet which was great. Wind played its part like normal. Tough but fair course.

Very good

I was pleasantly surprised at how good the course was. The 1st green was a bit disappointing but after that very impressed and it was a lot cheaper than the course next door.

Good tee boxes and perfect greens. Great links course on a beautiful day. Plays pretty short but tricky greens and plenty of bunkers to catch you out.

This is a links course which is constantly windy regardless of the weather. I happened to play this course with storm on the way and after a prolonged wet period. It drained quite well. Playing a links course is an experience but an acquired taste. The hosts were very friendly and made very welcome. They even sent an e-mail after my round hoping that I enjoyed myself and to keep in touch.

Enjoyable links course. Open fairways that ran hard despite it being early Feb & likewise the fastest winter greens I've come across. Didn't do it justice but didn't detract from the occasion. Great beer & food in the main clubhouse afterwards.

Not an overly long course is the world, but there again, not the easiest. Some challenging drives with water running down the side of the fairways, and some interesting greens. Not the most challenging course I've ever played, but definitely good fun!

Beautiful course in excellent condition. Quite short even off the white tees but long enough if you're playing in 40mph gusts as we were. Had a very good breakfast in the clubhouse too.
