Lived up to my expectations
This has been on my ?to do? lists for a while (my friends won't pay more than ?15) to play winter Tees. Currently having a bit of a dry spell in Leicester so found a work colleague to come along. The car park was empty with only us two in there, so no hold ups at all. The pro shop was very welcoming, directing us to the toilets and other useful information such as complimentary tokens for the golf range balls. No course guide book to purchase though. On the course it was only the first Tee that was on a mat. Had it not been for the hole 19app gauging where the holes went and yardage would have been a bit tricky. The course does have a public footpath running through it. I?d say the front 9 wasn't as stunning as the back 9. That's not taking away how pretty it is considering it's in the middle of the city. Holes 12-18 are just beautiful. The clubhouse staff were all friendly and with views of the course from an elevated glass fronted bar. A pleasure to play and promise to return in drier weather.

Leave well alone through winter
Some seriously great course for winter, Enville, Brampton Heath, North Warwickshire and so on.The Leicestershire is a messy, wet bog and the local pitch and putt @ £35 would have offered better value tbh. stick to summer golf @ this club.

Tough winter test, can get wet in places and don't talk to me about leafs and lost balls just of the fairways :-(£30 inc bacon cob and coffee and £500 top prize, greens in great shape and ironed in November :-) not a bad roll all day. 18th was like crazy golf 15ft putt and managed to de green it lol.
36pts won the day shows how tough this course is with no par 5s

Accuracy the key!
Played the Leicestershire as part of a society. Greeted by the staff who were all courteous in providing food and coffee. The club professional gave us the low down on the 'dos' and don'ts. The course itself was in great condition, with the greens all running true and fast. The fairways were in good condition, word of warning the 1st cut is thick and slightly longer than you expect hence the accuracy is needed off the tee. No par 5's but some excellent challenging par 4's. The only negative would be there was a lack of sand in some of the bunkers. Thoroughly enjoyable - society rate ?35 incl food - normally ?50 per visitor - unfortunately not a course i will rush back too - cant really think of a memorable hole.Reviewer Rating

Difficult to judge a course in February when it's muddy and wet. Greens in good condition considering and I've played it in better conditions when it's been a pleasure.

The course is always in excellent order, particularly the greens, which are superbly smooth and in play virtually all the year round - if they are not, you can bet that we have had a long spell of terrible weather. No par 5s, but I challenge most of you to get up in 2 on at least 3 of the holes.
Good Clubhouse, very friendly long serving staff, excellent food and facilities.
If you are the type who just plays, and leaves, you are missing something.
Highly recommended. John C
