What the club says: The Leicestershire Golf Club founded in 1890 is a beautiful parkland course which stands to the south of the city, backing on to open countryside. Heavily treed and boasting the finest quality greens, the 6200 yard par 68 course challenges low handicap golfers whilst remaining suitable to golfers of all abilities.

Most Helpful Review

Played on Sat, Aug 30, through the James Braid association. Good shop, very friendly staff and an excellent clubhouse. The course itself was in excellent condition with some really interesting holes, long sweeping dog legs to narrowish tree-lined fairways. One or two interesting lay-ups or risk and reward approaches. My wife and I both play off 19 and found it a good test without being over difficult - 36 points/33 points in her favour. Very enjoyable - Sep 1 2014

Very well run winter series @ £30
Tough winter test, can get wet in places and don't talk to me about leafs and lost balls just of the fairways :-(

£30 inc bacon cob and coffee and £500 top prize, greens in great shape and ironed in November :-) not a bad roll all day. 18th was like crazy golf 15ft putt and managed to de green it lol.

36pts won the day shows how tough this course is with no par 5s

Very good condition, reasonable course
Course very well maintained and reasonably interesting. Worth playing at the member's guest rate. We played on weekday evening and had pretty much clear run at the course

Accuracy the key!
Played the Leicestershire as part of a society. Greeted by the staff who were all courteous in providing food and coffee. The club professional gave us the low down on the 'dos' and don'ts. The course itself was in great condition, with the greens all running true and fast. The fairways were in good condition, word of warning the 1st cut is thick and slightly longer than you expect hence the accuracy is needed off the tee. No par 5's but some excellent challenging par 4's. The only negative would be there was a lack of sand in some of the bunkers. Thoroughly enjoyable - society rate ?35 incl food - normally ?50 per visitor - unfortunately not a course i will rush back too - cant really think of a memorable hole.

I was invited to play in a charity match at this venue and enjoyed the day. The course condition should have been better as green fees were expensive for the quality of the course.
