Great for learners and all weather
The course is in the Surrey chalk hills, so it is ALWAYS open, even when there's been heavy rain. This means that the fairways can be bumpy and dry, but recently the irrigation has been installed from 50 yards in at each of the holes, so they are better the closer to the greens you are.
Great place to learn to play before taking on longer and more challenging courses. Bring plenty of balls, the rough is good prep for links courses and can be punishing.

Played with a golf society in atrocious weather conditions ( rain and strong winds) . The greens are large , true and well maintained. The fairways were a little bare due to the hot summer , however we allowed balls to be placed . Despite the weather it was a fun course.Score: 84 Handicap : 11

Nice easygoing course
Played on the 16th August. Good greens and great layout and short so great for beginners as well as low handicappers. Greens were long, slow and soft to help with the hot weather and rolled pretty well. Fairways were poor which I understand is due to the hot dry weather of late, though I would normally expect a club which is fairly modern and charging £35 pp to have a irrigation system for their fairways... It really let the course down! Would play again for cheaper and in the autumn or spring.Reviewer Rating

Very good course, usually!
Even in the winter, Hurtmore is usually well drained and playable. Unfortunately at this time, not only had it had tremendous amounts of rain, but the course was also undergoing re-forming in parts, giving some of the tee-off and bunker areas a ploughed field appearance. Not my idea of fun, and quite frankly I believe the club should have been shut while the work was going on. As I say, usually it's a good course to play, both winter and summer, although I would not recommend it at this moment.Reviewer Rating

Okay
Nice Course, Pretty much straight forward with no real dangers to be aware of.Members are friendly enough, shame about the Woman in the back office (think she is the Ladies Captain) Face like a box of frogs and very unwelcoming !.
Looks down her snooty nose at you, beware !

Nice Club
Short course however in great condition. Despite the dry weather the fairways were good and the greens very good. Food was nice, staff brilliant. Made to feel very welcome. Our round was very enjoyable. Pace of play a little slow on the front nine was a little slow however the group holding us up left the course after 9 holes. After that we were not held up. Scores we returned were great, lots of birdies and pars!(Round played: Jul 2019 - Score: 82 Handicap: 11.4)
