Poor Condition
Played today after wanting to play this course for a while. Disappointed to say the least. The course has a good layout and potential to be very good, however it was in very poor condition. Granted there has been rain this week and its September but it just seems to have been left alone. Grass is overgrown, tee boxes are shocking (especially the 11th), I've played better municiples. There seems to be some heavy work going on with jcbs etc but surely getting the course cut and maintained should be a priority.I'd be disappointed if I was a member.

Total waste of money
Can’t believe I’ve lashed out £65 for such an awful course. Tees were completely bare. Course covered in poorly repaired and unrepaired drainage ditches. Weeds everywhere together with divot patches. No bar service.Reviewer Rating

Only got through 9 holes
2hrs 40 to get through 9 holes, tee boxes unkempt, greens so slow you could whack a hammer at 5 foot and come up short. Problems with card machine in bar staff were most unhelpful.Reviewer Rating

Just dreadful. Never again
Played this course a few years ago and it was good. However it looks like a giant bomb crater. Bare patches everywhere. Clover taking over. Tees bare. Drainage works left bare. Shockingly low standard and certainly the worst I’ve played in many yearsReviewer Rating

What’s gone wrong? Played a few years ago and really enjoyed it, but sadly it’s gone so far down hill. Poor condition all over the course and the greens were some of the worst myself and playing partners have ever seen in what’s supposed to be the best part of the year, summer. Save your money, drive past and head to the coast. Rebuild the greens and we might come back. Pity as it was great last time.Reviewer Rating

A great design that was neglected for many years and left to deteriorate. New management are putting money into it but as of my last round there the greens are still as poor as ever - time to dig them up and start again perhaps?

Untidy and overgrown
Played today and was bitterly disappointed. Tee boxes were overgrown and the course was generally very untidy throughout. The bar service didn’t help either after waiting over 15 minutes each time to get served and the bar was relatively empty. Recently played Brombrough, Heswall, Helsby and Titherington and they knock spots off here. Definitely won’t be playing here again.Reviewer Rating

A great design let down by poor course maintenance. Fairways decent, greens improving every year but what lets the course down big time is the length of grass when off the fairway, even slightly. Long grass also in tree areas make this an unfair test of golf

This course in the worst condition its been in for years. tee boxes are a disgrace, fariways average and even the greens are now suffering. Some bunkers also have barely any sand in them. They've wasted money on a "state of the art" driving range that floods with the slightest rain and looks a complete mess. Feels like the management haven't got a clue whats going on. Lost 2 PGA Pro's in 12 months and also green keepers have left. Living off being close to the gold coast of golf. Miles short of a £65 golf course.

Quite pricey visitor rates; having said that, the greens were in v.good condition and the pace of play was good for a weekend. Would play again

Greens were very good and true, but the rest of the course was not in the best of shape, particularly the fairways. Also rough cut very harshly and deep rough unforgiving. For £50 a round i'd expect excellent tee boxes and fairways, these were not!
