Good greens plus a few quirky holes

Played here for first time with a gift voucher. Very enjoyable experience. Relatively short course off the yellows but some interesting holes. 6th across the access road a bit unnerving for a first timer. Liked the dry penalty ditches so you could retrieve your ball! Very nicely presented, excellent greens (which we also enjoy at my home club, rarely rivalled elsewhere). Only disappointment was no catering, not even a cheese roll, when we had been advised there would be food available.

One of the finest courses and probably the hardest in the area although there will be an argument to say willow valley is harder but either way a course suited to experienced and low handicappers. Known locally as a pensioners course as you don't need to be aggressive off tee and plenty players just use irons which to me defeats the object of having a good knock. Greens fastest in the area by a long way even Dewsbury but a must to play in summer not winter

Hidden Gem of a Golf Course

Played here with my Golf Society perfect venue quality course not long have to plan your way round the closing 4 holes are quite special their claim is True. The welcome and hospitality by the staff is excellent the friendliest club we have visited in a long time.

Make time to have the full breakfast rather than usual bacon roll it is worth the little extra.

We will return.

Excellent tree line course, some demanding holes and tricky greens. Could do with a few more signs for directions as easy to get lost as your criss cross the fairways. Overall a great course with excellent facitilies and awesome breakfast.

The overall condition of the course has improved significantly this month, as the extremes of weather we have experienced has somewhat normalized. The fairways had a good covering of grass and the rough wasn't overly long. The greens were back to somewhere near their best. so a very enjoyable round today

Lovely but too hot!

It's a lovely track with lots of interesting holes but we choose to play it on a ridiculously hot day. Pace of play was fine as very few were as daft as a us!
