Winter warmer good value and the course was in great condition. Fast greens in November. Course well maintained and lots of interesting holes. Areal test of golf.

Wish it were nearer
Really good course especially for the medium handicapper. Friendly atmosphere on and off the course with really good facilities. We organised a fund-raising recent there recently and the management couldn't have been more supportive. I just wish it were nearer where I live because its a club I would join.Reviewer Rating

GREAT WINTER GOLF
It was cold , it was November but this is an amazing golfing experience at any time of year.Dry underfoot and nice pace of play for a Wednesday. We had a buggy a bacon cob and I think it was under £25 a head....BARGAIN!!
We travelled from Sheffield and its worth the trip. Great Pro, nice and friendly, range and putting green. Would recommend the bar too. £3.60 to 4.00 a pint

Perfect set-up and varied layout
Lovely course in Derbyshire that is well set-up, well maintained and exceptionally welcoming to visitors making it a joy to play.My only slight gripe is the opening few holes. The course starts with a hole where you need one leg longer than the other, the second is a blind tee short and the 3rd a uphill par 3 which is almost blind. For new visitors it is worth chatting with the Pro for inside tips or buying a strokesaver but once you have played you know what to expect.
The course overall is well laid out with a nice variety of holes, with varied undulations, well kept fairways and large true greens. This is a course well worth playing.

A MUST PLAY!
A fantastic course.The layout is excellent with great use of water, trees & walls.
It was also in fantastic condition, greens true & bunkers OK.
Look for the 11th, 13th in particular, but there are no bad holes on this course.
Driving range on the side of a hill & they asked not to use woods, but a minor inconvenience.
Hotel good as well.

Recently invited three friends, from Sandwell Park and Holinwell, both championship courses, they all remarked on the quality of the course and professionalism of the staff.

You lucky Horsley members!
Difficult to find a time when its not reserved for members, but finally came up with the Sunday afternoon idea. 2 of us come up from Leicester and for £17 had the best time on a "local" course for many a year Thanks to the Pro for telling us about this great rate and even the wives came along for afternoon tea and fizzy wine!Me 90 my mate 89 so I had to write this review!

Best Value by far, "Open quality greens"
Greens are quite superb now, (we thought they're a bit off earlier in April) I play my best golf on this course, and even a bad shot makes you feel its the course against you, not just your opponent!Horsley will penalise a bad shot but the greens will reward you as they are true and really fast!!

Stunning course with fantastic greens !
Played here on 16/6/2017 , what a fantastic course ! We tee'd off at 3.10 pm on the twilight rate as a fourball with two buggies only £25 each ! Amazing value for a course this good . The greens were fantastic and very fast ! Had one of the best rounds I've ever played so overall had a great time ! Back again soon hopefully !(Round played: Jun 2017 - Score: 103 Handicap: 28)

Just Awesome!!
Played just before their "open" in a society. Boy did they pull out the stops! I saw at least 6 different mowers in action but they didn't get in the way, pristine cut greens and fairways, quite outstanding definition, shape and some thinking to be done for each shot. Trees came into play a lot for me but all my own fault. We come back in September for another go. Can't waitHp 23, score 98

Bang on course.. just a pity....
Had society at horsley... bang on course.. just a pity they could spend some money on the course drainage... rained today on the back nine.. and puddles mini lakes everywhere... been like this for years... come on sort it out and this could be best course in East Midlands.(Round played: Jun 2017 - Score: 102 Handicap: 22.7)
