tough

lovely course, greens don't have much undulation but getting to them is tough enough so I suppose that's fair! lovely place, great practice facilities, great restaurants and bars and Sky football on in the spike bar so all good

Lovely course. Nice with good facilities and pace of play extremely good. One negative was a group on the course who were shouting and cheering themselves at every shot, but not the course's fault (although they maybe could have had a word?)

Morley Hayes, Manor Course

Played here many times and have enjoyed the round on most occasions, the course is always well maintained even during periods of bad weather.
Some hole require the correct club selection in order to score well.
My only criticism/gripe is the bunkers, basically they were terrible, seemed to consist of builders sand which contained lots of grit and small stones, and there was literally only about 2 inches of playable sand/grit on the surface

This used to be an affordable good quality ?green fee? course. But the quality has dropped significantly in the last year or two. The greens are in very poor condition, dry, bumpy and seemingly uncared for. Maybe a coincidence that the local pay and play course at Allestree has closed and this has led to complacency at Morley. Every visit the car park seems to be less and less busy. Need to get their act together sharpish or it?ll soon be completely empty.

Unplayable in places

This course seems to suffer from a wet period more than most. The fairways were sodden, the rough was marsh-like in places. No evidence of drainage on the "championship" course. Greens wet but playable and pitted with pitchmarks - a sign of a hotel course
With this being a hotel course there must be pressure to keep it open in all weathers. Most courses would be closed. No signage indicating preferred lies, no trollies etc
Will be back in the spring/summer

Good Winter Condition

On a two for one ticket this was good value for this time of year. A little soft in places and frozen where the sun hadn't found the ground. But, on the whole very playable.

Course was awful! Groundsman must be away on holiday. Greens were unprepared, not cut/roled, fairways was just mud. Course should be closed during winter time.

We are Corporate Members at Morley Hayes and have been now for a number of years. We find it excellent 'value for money' , get on well with the Staff and are acknowledged and chat with the Management whenever we see them.
A truly excellent Club, there are always people out working on the Course to keep it in very good condition. Where else would we want our 'Home Club' !!!!
