Really enjoyed the course, played my best goof of the year. Club house was good and friendly with good food.

Greens in excellent condition. Good variety of holes - long and short Par3's, some challenging driving holes but also some with plenty of 'bail out' room. Long 18th uphill requires concentration at the end of the round when you're tired. Ground will be heavy after rain but greens seem to dry quickly.

The course was in very good condition, the green staff were very helpful. Members were friendly and welcoming. The club house staff were great. My friends and myself enjoyed a great day out and will be returning to Hobson golf club very soon

Course in excellent condition considering recent weather conditions. Fairways and greens in great condition, nice and firm. Credit to the green staff.

A very enjoyable course. Not pretentious, a down to earth club with no particular wow factor but something different or interesting on most holes. The fairways are wide enough to give you a chance and if you get in to trouble you know it's been your fault and not a problem with the design of the course. The way the different par holes are set out is unusual and a refreshing change. The course was in good condition with some very good greens. Only downside was the streams are an issue on a couple too many holes. it's good to need some course management on some holes but this becomes a bit tiresome after a while. The staff in the clubhouse were really friendly. The car park is very small which caused a few problems. We paid £20 for 28 holes of golf, dinner and tea; remarkable value on a beautiful day.

Hadn't played the course for a few years and there have been several positive changes to the course and venue; different yellow tee box placements on the 7th and 12th, several new or altered sand traps (however, there is still insufficient sand), numerous previously small and blue staked trees now come into play and make the 1st and 18th tee shots more demanding and the biggest change of all; a new driving range to go with the pre-existing practice putting and chipping areas.The greens rolled well and were consistently paced (not the quickest but not slow). The rough was a little thicker than I remember and the fairways needed a cut, but we've had quite a lot of wet weather over the last few months. Having said that, I know the Hobson was prone to 'water logging' and I only saw one patch of water on the course, a lot of praise has to go the greenkeepers for the improved drainage work they've obviously carried out.One negative is that the Pro-shop is closing down (don't know if club is planning on appointing a new Pro, when Jack hangs up his spikes)

Decent course with lots of variety in the holes. Fair layout gives you the chance to score if you play well. Green pretty slow but otherwise fine. Some scuffy tee boxes. Our group of 23 enjoyed their day.

Greens an absolute discrace but very cheap, fairways good and all in all a good day out for the price.

I've been a member here for approx 1 year and must say it's a great starter- intermediate course. Some challenging par 3's and tough long 5's. On a nice day it has equally nice views and on a poor day it's exposed position provides a big challenge.

Very well maintained with a variety of long and short holes. Not overly technical at times but accuracy is required if a good score is sort. Well worth a look with a day ticket from £15 Sun - Thurs.
