Played here yesterday in a gale in a pro-am and I'd describe it as an inland links with a more undulating back 9. The course was superbly presented with lovely fairway turf, great greens and fabulouus views. Bunkers had unusual sand but realised this is because softer sand would blow away. Friendly clubhouse and staff. Definitely recommend although a slight negative is the compact nature of the course.

First time visit despite only being 40 minutes from home. Played with a society, course ambassador George, is a real gent. Felt very welcome. Played on a dry, mostly sunny day, it's clear when the wind blows the course defences increase significantly. Will be back.

Lovely course definitely worth a visit

Played here for the first time and it was great! The tees and greens are in excellent condition and the fairways are generous, so great if you are not always straight off the tee.
All the staff are very helpful, a green keeper even waited to show us where my husbands ball had landed in the rough ????
Would definitely recommend.

Lovely course

Great course and yes if you are nearby make sure you go and play it. Tough in places, fairways are forgiving and greens very consistent. Par 3's are tricky and gorse hedges make a straight shot a must. Having said this, many fairways are quite wide. Great views towards Salisbury and surrounding area.

Gem of a course

Very well presented course. Greens smooth and fast. Bunkers well raked with consistent sand. Attractive views of the surrounding countryside. A course which requires accuracy to achieve a good score. The final 3 holes are particularly challenging.

This is a good course, well worth a visit. The course is in good condition, despite the drought. The green ran well and the fairways allowed the ball to run for long distances.

On a wet and blustery day we had an enjoyable round of golf. The course is in good condition and the club house meal was excellent

I am a member of this club, play every week and it is always a challenge. Fairways are tough to hit and the greens seem to be getting better every week.

This is a very challenging downland golf course. It has over a hundred bunkers on the course. It has two par fives and four par threes and twelve par fours. There are some short par fours which are good par chance holes and the sixth par five is a good birdie oppertunity. Sixteen and eighteen are very long par fours getting a par on these is a very good score. The greens are medium pace

Played club match here today, my first visit to High Post. Wind blew like stink, but still really enjoyed this course. Greens were stunning, even after a fairly recent tining, rolled fast and true-unbelievable really! Every hole unique and presents differing challenges. Wind really made it very very tricky, first three holes right into the teeth of it. Very exposed location, but none the less, well laid out and lovely condition in late autumn. Club house facilities slightly dated, but very good. Staff all very friendly as were the other members, who are rightly very proud of their course. Food was superb. Would love to play this course in less breeze!
