The course holds water and after some rain can be very trying. A well laid out course with much to challenge golfers of all standards. There are some excellent holes including short par threes and doglegs left and right. Little or no club house facilities exist but well worth a visit when dry.

This is the first time i've played here in about three years and the course has really taken a turn for the worse. Course in poor shape for this time of year. Greens disappointing, course rough round the edges, no sand in half of bunkers. Pro shop used to be one of best in NW, even that's dropped in quality. Won't be coming back any time soon!

Heavy overnight rain had the course very damp in patches, especially with a very easy tee off time. Course in great condition though.

Some of the greens and fairways were a little ragged. The tee beds were not in very good condition and don't look like the tee markers have been moved since the end of last season. Overall though, course in a fair condition and enjoyed it.

I have seen other reviews on here with comments like"what do you want for a fiver". If you are a golfer who enjoys playing on mud, having bunkers with no sand in, greens with no grass on, and fairways barely distinguishable from rough, then this indeed is the course for you. What I want is a golf course, not an excuse for one. This course is a disgrace, and if the keepers cannot keep it in any form of order during winter, do not open it. Club house was closed, car park was a building site, this was a complete waste of time - and it wasn't a fiver either. Must be one of the worst 'golf courses' in the North West, if not England. I won't be going back any time ever, and if you prefer golf to orienteering, cross country running or tough muddling, I would suggest you don't either. Horrendous.
