A different course to most in Northern Ireland - water and lots of it!! Makes things interesting at times. Has some lovely holes and has potential to be even better, but was rather scrappy round the edges. A reasonable course, but not as good as all the comments I'd read previously about it had indicated. Enjoyed my round but was a bit disappointed given what I'd been expecting. Plenty of other parkland courses in Northern Ireland as good as, and in my opinion better, than this one.

Very very tricky course. Apart from the approach shot on the 1st the start makes you think its gonna be open,you soon realise this isn't the case. Very tight!!

There's a lot of water and trees and positioning your tee shot is important especially at the first where there is a narrow opening to the green. I was disappointed as there was no buggy to hire and it quite a long walk for a pensioner like me. They could with making the hole numbers on the tee boxes bigger and a signpost indicated next tee would be a big help as we struggled at times to know where we should be going

the score card you have on your site is not the the score card for this course, ie hole 1 329 yds SI 6, hole 2 331 yds SI 14 ect.

Good to see it back
Good to see this course coming back a couple of years ago going bust. Always one of the best courses. So tough! Several holes needing almost 200 yard carry over water, scrub and reeds. Greens still need a bit of work. Pity lovely clubhouse still closed - used to serve excellent food and lovely terrace for a cold beer. Hopefully that comes back next!Reviewer Rating

The course was in very good condition although a few of the fairways were more like a first cut of light rough. Bunkers and greens were excellent. The variety of challenge presented by the 18 holes is superb. There are three holes on the back nine that require a carry of 160+ yards from the yellow tees with no bail out areas so be aware of that. I just placed my ball infant of the carry rather than risk losing it. Watery graves beckon if you are not straight but by not straight I mean 20 yards off line. Its not the easiest of courses but it is a joy to play. There isn't a pro shop so take an adequate supply of everything.
