What The Club Says
Ballycastle lies at the foot of Glenshesk - one of the Glens of Antrim. It offers a variety of terrain, combining parkland and links traits to present a good test over the excellently maintained course. Founded in 1890, Ballycastle also has outstanding panoramic views of Glenshesk and the North Antrim Coast.

Quirky
Great course - loads of elevation changes. Tight going from holes 9 - 15. Loved the change from parkland to links to heathland whilst many probably wouldnt. Not conventional in any way shape or form.Excellent serviced in clubhouse, very friendly welcoming by staff in the pro shop. All in all a nice golfing experience - A1

Probably the best course I've ever played
Fantastic golf course, played in March but the course was in excellent condition with barely a damp patch.Greens were receptive and quick to putt on. Some of the best views from a golf course I've been at.
Special mention to staff in the pro shop who were extremely friendly and helpful, can't wait to get back for another round.

Great setting
This was my fourth time playing Ballycastle on holiday over a span of four years so I obviously like the set up. Pro shop and clubhouse including all staff are excellent. Course maintenance was excellent as usual with well manicured fairways, good sand in the bunkers and a lush second cut of rough. It was very windy when I played and that adds to the challenge but possibly the biggest challenges are semi blind shots and unkind bounces on some holes. A course to enjoy.Reviewer Rating

Beautiful Ballycastle
Found this incredibly quirky club on my travels in N Ireland. A course in two parts, first 5 holes parkland, interesting holes, then cross back to 13 links holes. Makes for a very interesting 18. Some beautiful holes, and a batch of quirky, interesting par 3s. If you struggle a little with walking, would recommend you hire a cart, a bit up and down, but this does not detract from a great course.(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 83 Handicap: )

Beautiful Coastal Course
This course has two things very much in it's favour. It is very well maintained with good fairways and true greens, and it's location is superb.Reviewer Rating

An excellent afternoon/evening
This is a lovely and challenging links course for a golfer of moderate ability like myself. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the coastal scenery and were fortunate to play on a lovely afternoon finishing just after 7pm. The course was in great condition and the greens ran true. Well done the grounds team.(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 109 Handicap: 28.4)

Differing opinions
Three of us played this course and two of us thought it was great throughout whilst the other, who is a low handicapper found the holes at the top of the cliffs bland. All of us found the condition of the course to be first class and the resident pro is very friendly and helpful. Clubhouse facilities are excellent. Practice facilities are limited.(Round played: Jun 2017 - Score: 98 Handicap: 24.5)
