Personally think the other reviews are a little harsh. Yes a couple of the greens are not in great condision but for the most part there good have seen far worse after a long winter. In all I agree the whole course could do with a little tlc fairways and tees could be cut better and a couple more bunkers thrown in here and there to make it a little more challenging. Only paid £15 for the round which was good value and will certainly be going again. I would say give it a go and make your own mind up, worth a visit.

Played 3rd division open here. Course in a very poor condition. Tees uneven and untidy. Bunkers- hard and lacking sand. Greens- Bumpy, Bald patches and hard to the point of next to impossible to keep the ball on the green.

Been a long suffering member for 10 years and not seen the course in such poor condition greens are embarrassing fairways are bumpy and uneven with no definition to the first cut all the work done in the bunkers is only half finnished most of the new turf around them is dead or dieing only got 9 months membership left so not all bad can see it being an empty course next year if things dont improve

Overall my experience at the Royal Ganstead Golf Club was superb, course was immaculate, the green keepers must be qualified at the highest level to have the course in condition it is at this time of year. The Pro was outstanding and was quick to recommend some of his quality golf equipment, i really dont know how he is making a living at those prices, so cheap, TOP BLOKE.
Would definitely go back and would recommend to all my golf buddies.

Fairways cut too fast . So had a wash board effect. No sand in bunkers . Looks like no pride istaken in the presentation of the course. Very untidy

Long course, mostly straight, nice fairways. Uneven, untidy tees. Bunkers very poor, lining showing and pebbles in some.Very small practice area next to busy road.

Played here Jubilee Tuesday, Hessle the day before.Tee's are overall quite scruffy, 1st green is a bit scabby, but the rest are in good condition,course was well cut, but the bunkers are awful ! Don't think I've been in worse. Clubhouse is excellent, over looking the 18th green with balcony

Played early May, course in good nick, apart from the bunkers, I have seen more sand in the pitch and putt at Butlins a real let down(reason for poor), club shop O.K and really nice 19th hole.

Ganstead good for hitting long into greens,not many greens catch you out with bunkers/water.
Greens good,but spiked (cored)the day we went.The index 1 is so easy.Plenty of Trees and fairways in good nick.

The pro is brilliant, I must admit he was really helpful when I was willing to buy some of his over priced golf gear. 12 Pro V1s, £50 bargain
