Tricky course
The conditions weren't great after lots of heavy rain recently. Even so the course was in good condition. Fairways mats were needed, but I'd forgotten mine, so played from the semi rough. All but two greens were open, one of the temps being an easy par 3. Given the weather and it being late in the season, I'd definitely return to play in better conditions.My only gripe and it's a small one, is because of the recent rains the greens were unable to have been cut, making the greens slow. But its fully understandable due to lots and lots of water falling in Manchester. Who would have guessed.
See someone with a tan in Manchester, it isn't a tan, its rust...

Excellent course. I wasn't expecting too much after reading reviews that the greens were not very good. The greens were brilliant, as was the whole course.
We came on a society day and if I had my
way we would play it all the time.
It's the best value for money course I have ever played. It puts some courses who charge double Fairfields fees to shame.
I can't praise it enough. You DEFINITELY need to play this course. Plenty of different type holes. It's great.

Lovely course - great views

Shocking course,most par 4s are drivable and the greens are in a terrible state,it rained in the morning but was clear in the afternoon and the course was still waterlogged,only plus is the people are very friendly so if you want to play golf don't bother coming but if you don't mind someone down your ear for an hour talking about the old course then this is for you.Reviewer Rating

The greens were ver poor! I can't see how you can justify charging people to play. The rest of the course us very nice, but you need to be able to put to play a round

I haven't played this course since way back in the late 80's. In the meantime, the course has been redesigned to take into account changes to the area (The M60 motorway and a housing estate). Some of the old holes still remain and there are well planned and thought out new ones to test your mettle.
I had a very enjoyable day, the course is in exceptional condition and the newly opened clubhouse is a fabulous 19th hole. Steve, the club pro, was very welcoming and gave me some good tips. The members who were out on the course were all friendly too. It may have been a long time since I was last here, but it won't be long before I am back... The week after next to be precise, it's already been arranged.

Played here for the first time today. Course a little wet after the morning rain but conditions were still pretty good. Lots of nice challenging holes, especially the 17th and 18th! Could do with better tee markers if i'm being picky but a nice clubhouse and friendly staff so will definitely visit again.

WHAT A COURSE!!!!! First time playing it a few weeks ago, Such a challenging well kept course. If you hit it right off the tee (as do I) you will struggle, even though I was 3 off the tee most holes Its just a beautiful course to walk round. Greens are deceptivly fast. There is a little work going on in the surrounding areas so on a few hols its a little noisy and there seems to be some work going on at the 15th or 16th fairway but if you can hit the ball straight over 100yds you will be fine. I enjoyed it so much im going back on monday!!
