This course is on the way back up!
Formerly Ellesmere Port Golf Course, also known as Hooton Golf Club, this course has just been taken over by the Ian Woosnam Golf Academy and it is clear to see that much work has already been done to improve course conditions. Recent mindless vandalism has damaged some greens but they are starting to recover and with the backing of Ian Woosnam this course should be a delight to play very soon.The course is not easy, with an excellent variety of tree lined holes that make accuracy important if you want to score well.
I'd recommend a visit if you're in the area.

Much Improved course

played here yesterday nice muni course always in good condition plenty of run on the fairways due to the long hot spell we are going through and lots of work going on to the bunkers greens were watered so they nice to putt on

Good course

played course today and it looks like winter is here, greens sanded fairways heavy with leaves all around, but to be fair the weather over the last week or so its not surprising but still enjoyed it

Improved
The course has improved no end over the last 2 years. Most fairways and greens in good condition. However, tee boxes on par 3's awful. Bunker on 9th has been 'under repair' for about a year, although nothing has been done on it. Temporary green on the 15th awful, even for a temp. Much improved though.Reviewer Rating
