Excellent course & in great condition. Greens good & true, maybe a little slow, but it has been quite wet.
An interesting layout & good use of the contours, particularly the 9th.
The members & the pro are a friendly bunch as well, they were all really helpful. It's just me that needs to improve!

My second time at Ellesmere as enjoyed my round 2 yrs ago. Nothing much as changed, course in great condition for time of year, a few wet areas due to recent heavy rain. Greens excellent. Par 3 9th a great hole, card wrecker for sure. Be warned can be busy with members who seem to start their rounds on various holes for the morning "rock up and play" so can be found sandwiched between them at times. But well worth playing this little gem for sure. Will be back.

A very well maintained course offering a pleasant variety of holes to play and all very well screened by tall trees from the main roads and motorway network adjacent.

Without doubt one of the best courses in the area. Always maintained brilliantly with some of the best greens around. It's a bit of a deceptive course as it gives you a chance on a fair few of the holes but others can be a real test, especially if there is a bit of wind whipping up. The 9th is one of the prettiest and toughest holes i've ever played. Highly recommended.

Played in the seniors open on the 5 th may.The course was in good condition after the heavy rain the night before.Every hole presents a challenge,makes you plot your way round.The greens are very true.The kitchen staff were very helpful.Coming back in August with society,really looking forward to it.

Played this course as part of a society day. Very well received by the staff. Good organisation from start to finish. The course was in superb condition, greens very true. Fairways lush. Some very interesting holes, especially the par 3 9th which is a potential card wrecker. A great finish to the round with another par 3 played to the clubhouse. Good practice facilities. Food excellent. Will definatly return.

Played this course on 3 separate occasions this year and each time it just seems to get better. Fantastic greens, great variation of holes each one presenting a different challenge, very friendly and helpful staff and members. Can't wait to return.

Ellesmere GC Walkden

A very nice club with the course in excellent condition.
Was supposed to have played here a few year ago but the snobbery of the members was unbelievable. I had been doing some work at a friends and had turned up, (with a change of clothes to play in in the car) in a pair of clean presentable, canvas shorts and a polo shirt. As I walked across the carpark to meet my brother I was accosted by a member who shouted at me that I wasn't allowed on the course and that they had a dress code. Before I had chance to say anything he again shouted that my dress wasn't suitable and he told me to go to a municipal who might accept how I was dressed. I told him that I had a change of clothing in the car and was told they had a dress code and I didn't meet it. I then told him he'd just cost the club two rounds of golf that day and two memberships as we'd been planning to join. He just huffed and puffed then stomped off.
Thankfully the members on this visit were a lot more friendly and accommodating.

Aintree Hospital Golf Society

Played this course on the 4th of June. Very surprised after reading some reviews. This course is a great little set up. Some really good holes and views. Greens were in very good condition, well done green staff. Lot of trees so fairways a must, then it gives you a good chance to score well. From the shop, very helpful and the women behind the bar very friendly. Weekend Green Fees very reasonable. Will definitely be back here again ????
