The course/afternoon was great, but marred by a member who told us that "we were holding the course up by 'struggling/practicing round the course" and requested to play through (we were waiting at the next tee for them to play through). We all play golf regualry and all hold handicaps from 18-20; we were playing within the rules in terms of playing speed. For some it ruined what was a pleasant afternoon out. For the record - other members we spoke to were pleasant.
Based on this - I wouldn't return and would opt to play Aston Wood or Lichfield GC, played at both this a number of times and have never experienced 'commentary' from members.

Worth a visit
I played in an Open and my golf was rubbish.Set alongside Drayton Manor Park and Zoo in Staffordshire, you'll find a gated car park which in turn takes you to the clubhouse. I visited the Pro shop and was warmly greeted and directed to the bar and locker room. The course is set up as two loops of nine both finishing at the clubhouse
A decent sized putting green along side the halfway house with a couple of practice nets.
The course didn't have a wow factor, but it was in good condition and the greens ran true. Not overly long but the emphasis should be on staying on the fairways as wayward shots do get punished. A relatively flat course makes for an easy walk and the tees were quite close from the preceding green.
Back at the 19th there is an option for waiter/waitress service for drinks on the patio as spikes are not permitted in the bar area.

Course: March 2017 - in very good condition, greens OK a little short for condition but putted well. Layout didn't wow me, and my visit after 29yrs ago was disappointing.
£25 for 18 holes with chips, sandwiches after still a bargain.
