Winter Golf
Course was soggy but very playable. Some of the greens have lifted due to the water level and you do wonder if a couple of days closure would help. (Controversial I know). Club house great, staff super friendly as always. Facilities could do with air line to clean trolley and shoes.Reviewer Rating

Good course ?
Very good for beginners just enough challenge to keep interest for more experienced players. I played thursday14-12-23@ 1118, started to rain so waterproofs on then T off. Quite a good round joined another pair on the 5th hole and we had a good time.Try it &the 19th hole is good to.Reviewer Rating

Excellent public golf course, offering great value and decent layout. The Par 3s are all challenging. My only criticism is that there is only 1 par 5.Probably at its best anytime except winter.

Ok Municipal, nothing special
This was my first visit here, with a 16 strong society. Starting with the ?Clubhouse? ? this has more of a caf? feel than a traditional bar. Didn't seem really big enough for any kind of ?Function?, and I'm not aware of any further space within the building for that use. Pro-shop was separate, but was closed by the time we came off the course. I was told it is expensive. There is a 40 bay driving range with shot-tracker, which apparently is so busy you have to book to use it, but apparently the ?bar? will deliver snacks/drinks to the seating area behind the bays while you wait.As a society, we had breakfast which was good, and our first tee was around 11.30, which (the day after the clocks went back) gave us only just enough time to get round before it was dark. There was torrential rain the day before our round, which left the greens and paths very wet, and with a lot of mud around.
This is the first course I've played in some years where all 18 tees were on ?temporary mats?, and whilst the mats were large and level, this was not very pleasing. I only visited one bunker which seemed well stocked with sand, and was fairly well presented/raked. Fairways also seemed fairly good, but again wet because of the weather, and the greens were slow because of the previous rain, but looked reasonable otherwise.
I think I?d like to play this when it's dry, as the holes seemed quite interesting, but I'm not going to rush back.

Good car par, number plate registration, friendly & helpful, & good room facilities for golf society & great pro shop, but driving range needs improvement & charging of toptracer on top of your golf balls, is poor service, putting green not in useReviewer Rating

This course has some bog standard holes but there are several very tricky holes with strategically situated trees. A gulley is in evidence on many holes which promotes thought as to where the next shot should be played from. Pleasant clubhouse with the usual standard menu

Good parkland track
It's been about 10 years since I played Delapre, I remembered it being a decent layout but not in the best condition, well it's changed in the last 10 years, it's still a decent layout, but now it's in fantastic condition. The greens have recently been hollow tined & heavily sanded, but you can see underneath that they are in fantastic condition & even heavily sanded they are pretty quick.
It's a fair test of all levels of golfer, quite open, not thick rough, some nice tree lined holes, a brook on a few holes & some long par 3's
It's not expensive& definitely worth a round of you're in the area.
