Mess

We play in the evenings on the way home from work, but unfortunately turned up yesterday and the course was not in good Nick. There were 3/4 winter greens that were appalling, every tee was off winter tees, and the real greens that were available were atrocious. Holes in them, water laying under them and people not repairing pitch marks. Was not impressed at all, I know we have had bad weather, but the course should be closed to give it a chance to recover. Also wasn't told about the poor conditions by reception staff. Not good.

I was sworn at for not sitting down properly in the cart by one of the staff. Also in pretty poor condition, as commonly stated by others.

Played here for first time in a golf society. This is easily the worst course ive played in the last 20 years. Very poorly maintained. Fairways look like cattle fields and greens are not as good as most golf courses tee boxes. I will never play this mess again.

Dreadful condition, greens are awful but better than they were, bunkers have no sand, tees boxes are not maintained....however the customer service is so bad that as long as you can avoid the abuse if you dare to complain, the golf seems marginally better. Avoid at all costs.

I hadn't played delapre for a number of years until i had 9 holes around the Hardingstone 9 about 2 weeks ago, very disappointing, the greens were poor, bunkers full of grass and the tee boxes were a joke like playing out the rough...but i give it another go today on the main course, and its not much better, greens with hack marks and full of tree debris, bunkers full of grass. Its a shame but you can tell its a cash cow for someone not a very well looked after course....the driving range is a rip off, its sad to think that kids who want to play have to pay silly prices just to hit a few balls on the range, (I'm sorry but £3 for 40 balls is bloody poor) Its over priced at £14 for 18 holes. There is far better value around the county!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DONT BOTHER

This is my local course which I have played since I started playing and enjoyed many rounds but after the last two I have sworn never to play there again. The fairways are average and the greens are not too bad but if you land in a bunker half the time it's like playing from mud because they are never raked and the other half you have to disturb the ducks so that you can retrieve your ball from the bunker/pond. The biggest reason I would never spend a penny to play this corse again is the rudeness of the staff, from the ignorant receptionist to the green keeper who is happy to spend 15 minutes lecturing you on speed of play when your waiting for the slow four ball in front (members) who will not let you play through. I now travel a little bit further and happily spend 5 pound more to play at a club where we're welcomed and treated with a little respect.

Good clubhouse/facilities, food and range is worth a visit, the oaks 18 was unfortunately disappointing, the course was generally unkept, greens were very poor standard, tee boxes and fairways were too long, alot of litter about and bins overflowing. Its a shame because it did seem to be improving but is now going downhill, would expect a better standard for the money charged.

Very wet and muddy

Probably the only course open in the county as the amount of rain has closed many. It was just to get out

Not worth it

Paid £24.50 for a course that is not in a great condition. The fairways were not cut and sometimes it was like playing out of the rough on some fairways. Stay out of the bunkers if you can because they are like playing of a building site. The only thing that was fairly decent were the greens.

The course was in poor condition, very muddy due to the rain, the fairways looked like they hadn’t been cut all winter. Bunkers were unplayable, and there was a massive puddle on the 18th green. Facilities a bit tired and shabby, but the staff were friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately this year the greens are nowhere near as good as they were last year. I know it is early in the season, but other course greens are in top nick. Please get the greens in top notch nick as soon as possible
