Quite an open course, but as the name suggests, there is a lot of water about, usually around the greens. This made it particularly difficult for our Lady members who found it hard to carry their shots over lakes and ditches to quite a few of the greens.
Bunkers seemed to be very consistent, as were the greens, which were very receptive. Some particularly interesting breaks on a number of greens which made 2 putting a bit of a challenge if you ended up in the wrong place with your approach shot.
Biggest gripe about the whole complex is the cost of food, drink etc in the Hotel. The golf courses however were in good condition and playing well.

Fairly open course for most of the holes, although I was playing so badly it wasn't 'open' enough. Good paced greens with some interesting breaks and very consistent rolls. Plenty of sand in well placed bunkers. Main problem with the bunkers was that they are all quite deep; so it was usually difficult to recover from any shot which found a fairway bunker, but not a problem for the greenside ones.
I was looking for ward to playing the course again for our 3rd round, but the weather was too bad, so it would be nice to go back, although the Hotel costs (drinks, food etc) were somewhat on the high side.

Our disappointment was such that after booking 2 rounds on the Lakes and 1 on The Woodside, we switched before we had even played The Woodside!
The greens are fast and true and I was still putting a few feet past the hole even after 3 rounds on them.
The teeing areas and fairways were poor!
The friendliness and service at the hotel were second to none!
The food was excellent and plentiful.
