my first time on this course the best links i have ever played on north wales coast this is a true test with most holes as the gorse will catch you out and punnish you. i found the front 9 easier than the back 9 the greens in fantastic condition and the views outstanding.the best £20 ive spent and will be returning

Golfshake Team ReviewMy first experience of a links course and what a fantastic experience it was. A real course and true test of golf and some fantastic greens.

Going out the holes hug the coast line and you get the real links experience with some strange wind conditions making for some strange golf. Playing links is also fascinating how conditions change on each hole in terms of wind speed and direction.

The final few holes move away from the shoreline which gives a much needed and easier route in although the well places gorse bushes and bunkers still can catch you out!

Fantastic day out and well worth a visit. Definitely an hidden gem on the North coast of Wales

Golfshake Team ReviewMy first ever links course, looks benign from the comfortable clubhouse especially on a sunny(ish) day in Winter. Once out on the track you'll soon realise that the course has two ways of protecting itself, the prevailing wind and the small, vicious pot bunkers that litter the fairways like a WW1 battlefield. The course was in tip top condition considering the time of year - tight, well kept fairways, wispy rough and fast, true greens.
Well worth a visit, take some warm clothing and enjoy it.

Great course - played in an absolute gale, but loved it. Those of a faint heart who like to play to their handicap or below should stick to their own backyards. This is links golf at its best. Stayed out of the pot hole bunkers (until the 18th greenside!), but didn't make 1 GIR. 27 points with only 1 blob shows how tough it is. Certainly the highlight of our holiday.

This is a typical links course and was used for the 2006 British Open qualifier.
The pot bunkers covering the greens are also in the fairways so placement of ball is paramount, land in one of these and your only concern is getting out.
Well defined holes and none the same, plenty of gorse on the last 6 holes and rough generally all over has an SSS of 74 set against the Par of 72 (off the whites).
Good borrows on the greens and quite quick although the wind (which blows most days) will determine how good you are at club selection.
Thoroughly recommended and a very good test for all abilities although in fairness genuine 28+ handicappers will suffer.

Conwy is an out & out Links course overlooking the the irish sea and across to Angelsey, this course was used as a qualifying course for the 2006 Open at Hoylake and therefore has plenty of pot bunkering not only protecting the greens but also along the fairways, if you end up in one just get out and accept your punishment.
At 6647 of the whites you'll know you've had a round and if the wind is present (which is more often than not) club selection if vital if you want to survive a beating from this course.
No water for obvious reasons but plenty of OOB, Gorse and trees especially on the back 6 holes.
It can be punishing for a complete hacker but a very good test for all others.
Highly reccommended.
At £50 a round it's not cheap but once you've played it you will want to come back.

Lovely links course

Excellently maintained, beautiful course with fantastic views. Thoroughly enjoyed playing this course although still frustrated about not finding my shot off the 16th tee that role onto the 27th fairway ????

Wonderful setting, easy walk, greens and bunkers good. Very good fair test.
Fairways a little bare, lots of gorse, lacks a bit of contour.
Overall highly recommend, decent price deserves its ranking

Great in all aspects, course, food, friendly welcome etc...... played Friday PM behind a society that was too slow for my liking, ended up as a 5 hour round unfortunately, a friendly reminder from one of the staff may have helped!
