Lovely course always worth a visit

Lovely course and it is well worth a visit especially in winter when a lot of courses close. It is sometimes busy because of this but is worth it

A good winter course

College Pines is a good winter course. There is however a tendency for it to be over subscribed when weather inclement/holiday periods as it does remain open and very playable even in poor weather. There was a 25 minute delay in our tee time yesterday presumably due to this situation. The course was in good condition.

Amazing in wet conditions

Turned up more out of hope than expectation with driving rain and puddles everywhere to be seen. Had a coffee and a bacon sandwich, thought we?d give it an hour... not only did we manage to get out on time, but only 45 minutes after the rain stopped and the course was by and large pretty firm and dry. Incredible! Best local course for winter golf bar none.

Excellent course, well kept & well worth playing

First time I have ever played this course and what an excellent find it was. There was a warm welcome from the pro’s shop both when booking and when checking in. The course is in excellent condition. I played it after heavy rain but with it’s sandy based soil it was still pretty dry. The fairways were wide and forgiving and the greens of very good standard. The price of £20 for a Friday afternoon round offered terrific value for money. An excellent course and very enjoyable to play.

Firm & Fast

Played on many occasions and always enjoy it here. For a parkland course it presents a different challenge to the normal, with fast bouncy undulating fairways and greens protected by humps giving the course an almost links feel and difficult to fly the small greens on the full. The rough is deep and penalising, however more often than not you will find your ball which is fair. Greens are always fairly slow, but that doesn't make them bad once you have the pace they are consistent. Good value for money in particular over the winter months, is there a better draining winter course in the country!?

Maturing course

Nice course, enjoyable but a few too many rules and member-isms.
Can't get anywhere need a green with a buggy or trolley.
