Back again after 26 years.
I last played this course 26 years and I was interested what it was like now. The fairways seemed narrower than I remember but I hit the ball straighter back then. You do not need, and probably best that you don't try and smash a driver at every par 4 or 5. You do need to think your way around. If you hit your ball in the trees you will probably find it as there is minimal rough underneath, but there are so many of them that a line to the green is unlikely and a punch out back to the fairway is the normal option. The greens were true and so and missed putts was my fault not theirs. Well worth a round but it was very busy on the afternoon that I played, but not surprised considering the quality of the course and price of the green fee.Reviewer Rating

Decent Course very Tough
Really long but enjoyed the round, the greens were not in the best condition which it made it a bit of a slog but decent value for money.(Round played: Jun 2020 - Score: 90 Handicap: 16.9)

Poor condition

The course needs watering. It doesn’t look like they have watered in weeks, which is a shame as it has some nice holes.

Good Course
Played here August ,19 .I hadn't played here before & reviews were positive plus i got a really cheap round on Golf Now so i thought i'd give it a try & for a municipal was very impressed .
Good layout & the holes are designed very well .The bunkering has been thought about & has been done very well with a few strategic bunkers on the fairways & the bunkering around the greens & the green complexes generally were very impressive .When you stand on the fairway & look down to the green it all looks good .
Favourite holes on the visit were 6 ,8 & 16 , all nice doglegs.
The course was well maintained especially around the greens & the greens had good surfaces & were nice to putt on.
It is a fairly easy walking course & the only slight shortcoming overall is that some people could find it a bit of a long walk round off the back tees .
In certain respects it could be mistaken here for a private club course & is good value for what you get & if i lived nearer to it i could see myself turning up here for a game on a fairly regular basis,.

Very nice course

However the Golfshake app has hole 7 and hole 8 stroke indexes mixed up causing the scoring to be incorrect on the. This means I had to adjust the shots accordingly to give the correct Stamford score correct.
