Playe this course for the first time recently and it was an absolute pleasure, both in terms of the setting and the set up of the course. A very tricky par 73 with a large number of blind shots. As with any good links, it is essential that you stay straight as the rough is extremely punishing. With 5 par 5's on the course you are in for a long walk when you play here but it is definitely worth it. The course was in immaculate condition and the greens were like snooker tables. As I was playing with a member it only cost me £15 as well which is an absolute bargain - it is £95 at the weekends for visitors. When I played Ballyliffin in Donegal a few years ago I didn't think I would ever be as impressed wit a golf course again, but Castlerock definitely meets that standard. I am just dying to get back now to try and take a few shots off the round I just played, which at 27 points asn't a bad effort first time round.
