Good course tight due to trees. Greens in good order. Not many bunkers. Tee boxes well kept. Plenty out of bounds so need to be straight

Good course with public access

Carholme is a good course, especially with the fact that it is open to the public with various paths running over and through it. Tight tee offs leading to open fairways, but with tall rough means you have to be accurate. No buggies and only a few trolleys to borrow. Nice club house with good facilities.

some of greens were marked due to birds digging but otherwise excellent, longer than you think, definitely challenging.

The golf course was in very good condition considering we had experienced heavy down pours the day before. The greens rolled very well and true. Although not the longest its still not an easy course and you need to manage your way round well.

Nice course, not very long. There was too much sand in the bunkers for my liking as you sunk when stood in them. The fairways needed cutting as you couldn't tell where the fairway ended and the rough started, The greens where in good condition. I would play again but not till the summer. I paid ?10 for a twilight tee time which seemed fair.

Played played this course on a 2-4-1 voucher so only cost the two of us a tenner each which represented very good value. Not the longest course but punishing for those who spray the ball about. Greens were very good, true and even paced but some other parts of the course looked a bit tired, mainly the tees. Five minutes from Lincoln town centre, decent clubhouse, decent food and friendly staff, all combined to make the whole experience very pleasant and enjoyable. Would definitely revisit and on the 2-4-1 voucher, it is very good value.

Ok course some tricky holes shame about some of the members - 5 ball! And 4 ball not letting a single player through, next time clubhouse saying the course is quiet turn up pay and told there's 6 4balls about to tee off. This is a shame as it is a good course for higher handicap golfers with a challenge and holes for birdies

I've played Carholme a few times over the last 3 years or so and it's always been average at best. Recently went again and the course is in fantastic condition. Teeboxes and fairways are in very good condition and the greens run very true, albeit slightly slower than you might expect. Relatively short course with all but 2 par 4's under 400yards, however, don't underestimate this course. Every fairway is lined with trees and/or unplayable rough/OOB so being accurate from the tee is vital. My only complaint would be the condition of the bunkers, they are a little bit on the stoney side. All in all you can't complain when they're only charging £12/round after 2pm. If you're in the area it's worth a visit.

Having not played this course since the end of last year when it was in relatively poor condition, I did not expect too much from this round. However, what greeted me was a gorgeous little course and in fantastic condition. The greens were all in excellent nick and rolled true all day and the fairways were nigh on immaculate.
This course can be extremely penal if you choose the wrong shot, tree line fairways and traps everywhere to catch the stray ball if you stray off the tight fairways. Course management is key round here and playing for position off the tee is vital. Some will see the yardage of the course and expect to coast round but if you're not straight you are in for a long day.
There are a few negative points though, the big one being the signs to show you where the next tee box is. I found on more than one occasion that I was stood on the wrong tee box due to having to guess where to go next. The other bad point is the volume of dog walkers on the course, I was under the impression it was private land yet people walk their pets around it like they own the place. There were a few times that I would have to wait on the tee as people were walking down the fairway, shame really as it took some of the gloss off the day.
