Excellent corporate/ charity golf day venue. Course was challenging for low handicaps/forgiving for others. I usually spurn a buggy buth this was very up and down, so worth taking the cart.
Well looked after in Clubhouse; good facilities.

Course was in good condition given the time of year and the recent wet weather. It is clearly not played on very often as it appears to be shut for most of the week, but open at the weekend. We had to carry which wasn't a problem and the course as clearly been set up to manage the winter use i.e. pins tight to front of the green on every hole, mats on most par 3. The course played fair and tight, and my dad and I had a great round. The holes are varied and have some interesting elevation changes. It helped that I had played here before as there are a number of blind tee shots. The best hole for me was the 4th. A long par 4 dogleg left, straight downhill and then back up to a large green. The course was empty and we were only 2 of 7 people to use the halfway hut! I actually won this round no Facebook, but I do not think I would pay the normal green fee of £100 odd to be honest. Clubhouse was expensive, and I found it a bit off that the visitors section didn't have any heating! The practice facilities were the best I have ever used. Overall, a great day and would recommend to anyone.

Palmerston course is personally the favourite of the two. Quite a test. You do not want to be above the hole on the green.

The Palmerston course is very challenging, open with some lovely views of hertforshire. The course is very nicely layout with hidden greens making each shot a challenge.

The greens I have to say were very poor. The speed of the ball on the green was very slow resulting in having to put more swing on the putter. Also i have say the course is very badly signed as many of the holes cross over, causing confusion on where next to go next.

Very impressive place with 2 very good courses. I personally preferred the Melbourne as there was a bit more drama. The 4 water holes are fantastic. The Palmerston has some lovely holes through the woods as well. Practice facilities are top notch and the accommodation is also excellent. Bar food and prices were more reasonable than I expected.

Beautiful setting, decent course. Not too long but plenty of dog legs and mature trees to negotiate. Fair too, rewarding good shots
