In the rough on the fairways
If you like playing on a course where every shot barring putting is played out of rough this is the spot for you. Potential 9/10 actual 1/10Reviewer Rating

Never again
Very disappointed, fairways needing cutting ,lose your ball in the first cut of rough. Majority of bunkers have grass growing in them , greens terrible state . Only plus point was course was empty. If your thinking of going save your money.Reviewer Rating

Never got round to playing there though so can't comment on the course. Club house is OK, has a basic gym, driving range is a little tatty, grounds near range have been ruined by development of log cabins.
Being a local business man it is very upsetting to go to club where some of staff treat you like muck. Glad I didn't go for the membership!
This is one golf club, I will not be returning to. Will try the other club on the South Side, no range but if the staff are friendly it will be plus!

Hard course not well maintained
This felt like a really long course mainly due to the layout. Some long walks between holes with minimal directional signage. Drift off line and the rough is unplayable. Poorly maintained course although some of the backdrops are great.Reviewer Rating

The back 9 is more pleasing to play as it allows you to spend more time overlooking the sea but these holes are more subject to the difficult wind conditions and you'll have to keep the ball low if you don't want to be wading through shin deep rough in search of your ball on every hole.
Not an unpleasant course overall but the greens are soft, bumpy and far too variable in speed to give you any sense of feel.
The clubhouse was built in 1993 and has been given a mock ancient makeover which isn't entirely convincing. However, the main bar has an elevated balcony overlooking the back 9 which makes for a very pleasant place to dissect the day's events.

No pro shop
Played there yesterday and generally had a nice round but the course seems to be on it's last legs. Bunkers GUR due to lack of maintenance and some greens lumpy and patchy. There are two different routings around the same 18 holes which confused us. Each tee has two different hole numbers, one for the Bay Course route and the other for the Heritage Course. I had thought there were two different courses but no, it's just two different ways of playing the same 18! As per the title there is no pro shop and no golf items on sale so take plenty of balls and a glove with you if you need them. The upstairs bar deals with green fees etc but have no knowledge about the course. I played with my wife and son but we saw groups of 5 and 6 playing together at different parts of the course. There are some very picturesque holes on the coastal side of the course but many others are quite featureless and not very memorable. I used the East Coast Passport scheme so it only cost £25 each but I don't think I'll be rushing back ??Reviewer Rating

You need to get this course on a good day as the greens are not usually the best and course can be very wet. Club house is nice with seating area overlooking 18th green and sea views.(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 79 Handicap: )

Nice course but staff are working on repairing the greens as they seemed very dry and had dead patches. To be fair they discounted a buggy as compensation which was good of them.Reviewer Rating

Lots of potential
I have visited this course plenty down the years but nothing changes. It’s not looked after and bare mi mum of maintenance is done. It has the potential to be the top golf destination on the east coast but would need millions to get there. Shame.Reviewer Rating

Great Links Course
The wind was up, so the linbks course played very difficult as it should!! The fairways were hard and fast as you' expect and the greens were like lightning.Overall in good condition, just 1 temporary green on that was ver poor (about 6 foot in diameter and a cup like a bucket).

A transformation , worth a visit
This course has suffered over the past few years with a severe lack of care. This year has seen a positive transformation and the course is starting to look and play like a proper course. Some bunkers still require attention, but they are getting there. Worth a visit now and the views on the back nine are stunning.Reviewer Rating

Good Deal
This course has been panned in recent reviews but we were pleasantly surprised. There are a couple of bunkers that were overgrown and perhaps should have been marked as GUR but most of the bunkers were fine, the greens and fairways were in good shape and the course provides a good challenge.Don't be put off, the course is excellent value for money in a lovely cliff top setting.
