For a first time visit this didn’t feel like the usual Braid course. Nevertheless there were enough interesting holes & trademark defences. It was a well kept course with well looked after fairways & good tempo greens that didn’t always read how they looked. The clubhouse is undoing renovation so we didn’t stay long.

Our contemporary, yet traditional clubhouse enjoys beautiful views over our highly rated and challenging course, and is the perfect place to relax after a round of golf. Members can make use of the clubhouse seven days a week, whether it be catching up with friends over a drink in the bar, watching the latest sports on our large screen TVs or popping along for Sunday lunch with the family. Or you might want to join the very active Bridger or Snooker sections. We are also fortunate to be able to offer our extensive and versatile facilities for weddings, private functions and business meetings with ample on-site parking and an experienced team ready to make your event a success.

Friendly course
Early start to the season and early T time as a guest. Made to feel very welcome and the course is a fair challenge although with recent weather and work on the course the greens were not great this early in the season.(Round played: Apr 2019 - Score: 91 Handicap: 17)

I didn't see the course at it's best as the trees aren't in leaf yet, however the course still looks good. The greens are just suffering a bit at the end of a winter; they were a bit too soft and there were a lot of footprints around the holes. The tees, fairways and rough were all in good shape.

Not my favourite course although it is always in good condition and well kept. It's noisy due to the proximity of Stansted Airport and the M11. The 18th is nothing to look forward too with 2nd shot difficult unless your drive is well positioned! Bar and catering is always excellent.

Good parkland layout
Good layout, can see it would be a real treat in the spring-summer months. It was still in good condition when we played in spite of serious rain leading up in the weeks before. Drainage has improved a lot over the past couple of years. The greens were mixed in speed as some had been loaded with sand after autumn maintenance which made them playable but painfully slow.Great sausage bap at 9 holes stage in the temporary halfway hut. The clubhouse renovation will no doubt yield a bright shiny new version by start of next year.

Second time round here. Terrible round from my side but nothing to do with the course which is both a decent test and interesting. Was in good nick and the greens were true. Good practice facilities. Clubhouse is having some work done but portacabins on site mean there's still a small bar food available which was decent.

Great Course, even in tough conditions

A lovely cause that is well maintained and fun to play. Some difficult holes once you are out of position. Greens are playing true and was very happy with the whole atmosphere. Very helpful staff in Pro Shop.

A decent course with some fine, challenging par 4's. Course was well kept but starting to get a little heavy in places so imagine it would suffer a bit in winter (winter greens already being prepped too) the greens had also been recently sanded but did not overly affect the roll.

Played after recent rainy period locally. Some fairways wet underfoot but no standing water and I came off with clean shoes and trouser bottoms. Greens in excellent shape - all rolled true and fairly quickly. Course generally in good condition and a fair test of golf. Some stand-out holes esp closing two holes on each none holes. Short par 4 14th looks easy on the card, but a 6 there belies that - don't take liberties ! Great winter deal (18 holes and food). Well stocked pro shop with friendly helpful staff. Well worth a visit.

We had a round and food for £29 which was a bargin, although, that offer has now finished.
The only let down for the club is the fact that they are situated at the end of the Stanstead Airport runway, and the continued aircraft noise was annoying.

A very interesting and "quirky" lay out with some great holes.

Lovely course.It was my 4th round of the day as part of a charity event so I didn't enjoy it as much as I'd like to, and it was tipping down.
Nice variety of long and short par 4's and par 3's. Very scenic in places too. Fairways in excellent condition and the greens were very fast, even after the rain.
Its tough to get a round if your not a member or know a member but if you get the chance then give it a go.
Would go back.

First time round here on a society day. Excellent course in good condition. Greens were quite firm but rolled well when on them. Bunkers were decent. Course itself has an interesting layout. Temp hole on 2 whilst they do some work but well integrated and didn't spoil the round in any way. Very welcoming in the clubhouse and looked after us very well. Good food before and after the round. Would go back.
