First visit in a while and course looks in good nick, not a bad course but lacks a clubhouse. The pub next door is good but not the same. Book online to save money as it is a little expensive for what it is.

Reliable fall back
Not a bad course that plays well in half bad weather although not a big lover of winter tees. About time they sorted a bar out as pub next door don't really want golfers in.(Round played: Feb 2019 - Score: 100 Handicap: 25.6)

Frozen conditions so hard to rate
We arrived to snow covered greens, so 18 temps and mats to tee off so hard to rate the course properly. It looked a lovely layout and I would certainly like to play it again in better weather. Course pro was very welcoming and professional.Reviewer Rating

Good course in good condition. Would visit again. Be wary of the trams going past. I heard the horns on the trams go off twice while playing

this being part of the Sheffield SIV group is not a bad course at all
well stocked pro shop good training facilities and a good challenging course
changing rooms leave a lot to be desired
overall a good municipal course

I played this course when it not very well established in the 70s . Now it is becoming a good municipal course , reasonably dry most of the year a good test of golf for most players. however the tees are a bit naff, well worn , tee mats are in use, but could be better managed, to give grass tees more time to recover along with approach areas, I realise it is always a problem with a popular course. so in general a good course to play .

Very foggy and damp however only a couple of winter greens and the rest were well maintained

Very poor & limited parking , not as a fault of the club as they had shared parking with the adjascent pub until a dispute forced a temporary solution which has become permanent. club shop is reasonable
and the staff are friendly & co operative , but catering is extremely limited. the course is good & very well drained , so it stays playable all year round.

The course is well kept all year round , the greens are excellent , & the course overall is challenging. But the car park facilities & clubhouse are very poor, & do not give a good first impression

The course is looking a bit better although the green are a bit bare in places and could do with a bit of feeding, apart from that not bad a usual. The course could benefit from having a club house?

First time at Birley Wood, greens had only just been hollow tined so were very difficult to putt on. Course was very dry considering recent weather and I presume would be bone dry come the summer
