Course is the best one to play when the weather has not been kind although the greens on the par three are quite small when you consider the approach shots needed. It seems to be the busier one in the area and reflect sometimes on the pace of play because is always crowded. Not the longest course either but it is challenging. Needs a bar as pub is not very welcoming to golfers.

Pleasant surprise
First round here with my brothers and thoroughly enjoyable. The course is enough of a challenge and was in very good condition following a few days of rain. Friendly players and staff, with good etiquette shown by others on course. A steady three and one half hours for a threeball on an unfamiliar course. Will definitely play here again. The adjacent pub is very well stocked and serves decent food. They even let golfers park at the top of the car park which is very much appreciated. If you have not played here, give it a go - you may be pleasantly surprised.Reviewer Rating

Solid Challenging course

The course is well kept all year round , the greens are excellent , & the course overall is challenging. But the car park facilities & clubhouse are very poor, & do not give a good first impression

Nice course worth a visit
It's a bit hilly but it does mean that all the holes are different. Nicely kept greens and very friendly staff and pro shop. Course holds up well in the wet weatherReviewer Rating

Great course all year round, winter greens not the best but compensated with oversized cups. Maintenance being carried out at moment on 17th for better drainage so practice area hole used to replace it.

I play at Birley every week. The course is kept in top condition and the variety of holes mean a round is never boring. There?s also plenty of friendly round comparisons and banter from other golfers.

small, tightish municipal course. kept in good condition. good shop and helpful staff. I play it regularly and continue to find it a challenge. It drains very well so is playable all through the year.
