I play this course quite regularly, and my round in early April 2017 is easily the worst condition I've seen the course presented in. The 2nd tee seemed to be closed (for no reason as far as I could tell) so we were off a very small mat, which was far too close (distance wise) to the 1st green. This was not the only mat!!!, in fact of the 5 par 3's, only one was NOT off a mat. The first par 5 was also played off a mat, and was shortened by around 80 yards, and this hole off the proper tees is usually one of the more challenging driving holes. Bunkers were pretty dreadful (as usual I should add), looked like they hadn't been raked regularly, and had too little sand in them. I also found the greens to be quite solid, and not showing any kind of pitch mark, as if they had not been watered for some time.
Generally I enjoy playing here, but this was disappointing for a spring start after a particularly mild winter - the course should have been far better prepared.
On the plus side, the food was good, but as a guest of Bedfordshire Captains Society, I cannot comment on cost/value for money.

The course was in fair condition with the greens the best part. Putting green used for practice was not usable.

A local course for me, so I get to play a number of times each year, and I'm always happy to play here.

The course is generally in good condition, although there were a number of hole closures over the winter months. Greens are invariably quite fast, even when it is, or has been raining. There can also be some quite tricky pin positions on slopey greens (15, 17 and 18 are good examples). Fairways are reasonably generous, so not too narrow for those of us who are not always arrow straight off the tee. Bunkers are not the best, but let's face it they are 'hazards', so try to avoid them.

Clubhouse services are good, but we were guests of Bedfordshire County Golf, so possibly we were looked after better than usual.
