Another great course
Played here a few times now and found it to be a very nice undulating course with some testing holes. Conditions are excellent and the welcoming hut can be visited twice on your round for tasty snacks and drinksWe will return

Little Gem
This course is so tucked away that it seems like a hidden gem especially as two times visited it seems reasonably quiet.Great course conditions and a friendly welcome. Open fairways give the chance to really open up the shoulders.

Class Above
Myself and 3 friends played Beds and County yesterday, it was a really enjoyable experience. The fairways are in fantastic condition, and the greens rolled well, they have recently done some work on them but they still played well. I did find myself in 5 bunkers on the way round and they were excellent to say the least. This is my favorite of all the courses around Bedford.Reviewer Rating

Greens were superb and pretty quick. Some very testing holes off the back tees in dreadful weather especially the 10th and 15th( 1 of the hardest par 4's you can play IMHO)
one or two quite hilly parts but overall fairly easy walking.
Staff were very friendly.

The course is generally in good condition, although there were a number of hole closures over the winter months. Greens are invariably quite fast, even when it is, or has been raining. There can also be some quite tricky pin positions on slopey greens (15, 17 and 18 are good examples). Fairways are reasonably generous, so not too narrow for those of us who are not always arrow straight off the tee. Bunkers are not the best, but let's face it they are 'hazards', so try to avoid them.
Clubhouse services are good, but we were guests of Bedfordshire County Golf, so possibly we were looked after better than usual.

Good course and venue
Played in the Bedfordshire County Senior Championships for 2024. Course was set up well, but with some difficult pins as you would expect. Roasting hot day, and everything running further than usual. Greens were quite hard, so not easy to stop a ball on them. The bunkers leave a little to be desired, as some have dark 'builders sand' in them and others have been changed over to whiter, softer sand. According to a member we spoke to; they intend to change all of the bunkers, but this will be a long and expensive procedure.
Strange to play one green (13th) which had a drain in the middle of it. It just goes to show how wet things can get during Winter!
As food was included with our package, I can't comment on cost, but the quality was very good - best steak pie I've had in a long time. Although I last played here in 2017 in the same comp, It always feels like once you've played it; it's easy to remember where the dangers are and so hopefully avoid them. The greens are definitely it's greatest defence, because it's not overly long or hard to negotiate. Straighter drivers will score well here.

Enjoyable
Played here for the first time as part of captains day from Chalgrave manor. From the moment we got on the first tee I thought this could be good. Great work on tee boxes, fairways and greens all were impeccable in my opinion. Even had a complimentary Ice cream halfway round. I?d recommend playing here and look forward to our return.Reviewer Rating
