Some improvement noted today namely fresh sand in the Bunkers and some rakes provided. fairways are good and, in my opinion, the greens are true but slow.

Not the best course in the area but some nice looking holes in the back 9 - could be in better condition, twilight rates would be better value - play here for convenience.

I have played this course many times, but it is closing at the end of the year. You can tell. Poor condition. Sad really.

(Round played: Feb 2015 - Score: 87 Handicap: 22. Course is well past its sell by date, the council are trying to close it down. There's a petition in the clubhouse to save the course but with property prices being what they are I fear it will go to a developer.

greens left far too long so very slow and inconsistent.
they management need to keep control of the dress code and there were too many people in jeans and t shirts.

A lovely setting but the course is well past its sell by date. Typical English parkland course that must have been glorious in its hay day but sadly it has clearly been neglected in recent times. The bunkers are unkempt (not even any rakes to be seen), the fairways chewed up with divot marks, there are no yardage markers on the course at all (even a dab of yellow paint on the fairway at say 150 yards would be a help) and the greens would barely bother the stimp meter. I reckon my garden lawn is quicker. That said, there are some lovely holes in a great setting. Sitting out on the patio having a post match pint one can only wonder what it must have been like when the course was looked after. Instead there is a petition at the bar asking for signatures to prevent the course from closing. Clearly a indication of why the council don;t bother maintaining it. A huge shame as with some investment and tender loving care, it could be on a par with many other local courses.

slowly improving the course, new staff also, place being run properly so should keep the idiots/hackers away

Very cold
Low sun made it hard to see drives
Course extremely waterklogged and muddy - even the greens.

Badly mannered players not asking if OK to play through. The ground generally in poor condition, with many unrepaired divots and loose wood on the fairways, and the greens not much better.

Cheap & Cheerful, i think they let over 60's play for £9 so if you get stuck behind one of these 4 balls your looking at a 5 hour round.
I've also had the pleasure of being stuck behind a 6 ball of skinheads with their tops off, i'm sure they wouldn't allow that at Wentworth!
Front 9 short and not very interesting, back 9 much improved with some memorable holes.
I used to play early in the morning and it would appear the pro shop would be broken into at least once a week.

Nice course but could do with a little more attention bunkers hardly ever raked no rakes for golfers use, greens not bad, rough usualy kept reasonably short.my local course and I do enjoy playing there. pay and play.
