I played this course on the 3rd of October 2011 as I was down in Hastings for a few days Golf with a friend of mine and we were able to book a tee time for the Sunday for £23.00. I play off 9 but only play about 15 rounds a year so not a regular golfer and my friend plays off 22 again only about 15 rounds a year. Looking at other reviews of the course I was a bit dubious about booking here but after a few holes I realised I should never have worried. Now this is a tough course and no disrespect to anyone else who has left a review but I think a lot of the comments are based on how people have played and not on what the course is like. If you hit the ball in the trees as we did a few times then your probably not going to find it but that's the punishment for not hiting it where you want. This course is a challenge but one that the 2 of us both enjoyed and fro £23.00 on a Sunday great value for money. My advice is book a buggy, don't take out a load of brand new pro v1's and enjoy this very good challenging course. If you play to your handicap then you have either played very well or you should be cut :-). A really challenging good value and friendly club house so play here and enjoy the challenge.

one of the hardest challanges a mid to high handicap will ever have , if your are not straight on this course then you are in trouble, still great fun to play , and if the trees dont get you the sloping greens will !

Truly brilliant, friendly, fun course - Challenging but cant recommend enough
Was not expecting much from the course. yet wow. Its stunning scenery with almost all holes are enclosed with tree lined private fairways. The hills mean its like walking the south downs - you will be tired and exhausted mentally and physically.
Yes the greens are not in great shape at the minute (the new management know this and are working on it) but i have not played a course like this in ages - not since being in the hills of Bilbao, Catalonia or Edinburgh.
The first holes dont let you know what you are in for - slopes, blind shots, superb scenery. - With some of the more daring holes its like playing tiger woods golf on the xbox
Normally this type of course is surrounded in snobbery and exclusivity - but no, the exceptionally helpful and friendly staff actively encourage golf for all.
Will come back plenty of times - cant recommend enough

Great course. Very difficult due to very steep slopes left and right going into woods. But very rewarding when you get it right!

After moving to the area 3 years ago I played all the courses in the area and finally joined Beauport. If want to play a nice flat course with plenty of room to open your shoulders then don't play here. This course is a real challenge and is a fantastic way to improve all aspects of your game. The back 9 contain some of the most interesting holes I have ever played and even though I play them at least 3 times a week they never get boring. The pro shop and practice facilities are excellent and the welcome is always warm. After the round the clubhouse has a superb selection of food and beverages and is good value.

We played on Saturday afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed this very challenging course. It is a visually stunning area and you have to be fit to get up and down the hills. Greens were in good condition considering the recent bad weather we have had. You need to be straight with your drive as the trees will swallow your supply of balls if your are not. Some great holes, the downhill 10 and 11 and long 17th being my favourites. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

I played at Beauport and it was a very tough course, with some really tough holes (5th, 14th and 17th), but it has some of the best facilities for practice, it also has beautiful views from the 7th tee and the clubhouse balcony. The food is delisious and great value for money. It would be a great place to host a society. Definatly a course to visit for a challenge.

Tricky!

First time at this course. Easy few holes to start and generally easier front 9. Back 9 is very tricky - sloping fairways, mostly blind tee shots, big height variations and some very steep valleys to play over. If you play into the woods, the ball is lost! A real test.

A fairly long walk between some holes, some up and down steep hills. I usually carry my clubs, but I'd recommend a cart here (or at least a trolley).

Generally good green conditions, but a couple with a few bare patches. Fairways in good conditions.

Beautiful scenery, and some tremendous views over East Sussex and Kent countryside.

I played this when staying in Rye. Turned up and was warned about the steepness of some of the holes but thought cant be that bad. How wrong i was steep drops and steep climbs but well worth it for the views and the round. Buggies were not allowed when i played due to heavy rain the night before would have made a massive difference to the round.i had had my aortic valve replaced only 3 years ago and found the course a challenge pushing a trolley as well as walking up steep climbs, benches would be a good idea to allow you to recover. Not a course for people with ailments unless a buggy allowed

Don?t judge the outside

This course really surprised me. The pro shop, practice greens and entrance doesn't fill you with the thrill on offer from other courses in the area.

However, the bit that matters, the course was on great condition. The tee boxes, fairways and greens all played really well. Some areas are under construction but still playable

Difficult

Unbelievably hilly course. Visiting on holiday - no trolley, so exhausted carrying full set of clubs! Many holes couldn't see the fairway or green so hitting blind, then even decent shots were running off or back down steep fairways, though this was an advantage on some holes. Challenging course layout for sure but could be better kept. Greens patchy. Grass cuttings not collected on some fairways and high rough to side of others - found four balls while looking for mine on 14th.

Have recently been playing there more regularly and have noticed that the course has been given a bit of a makeover. Rough and trees have been considerably thinned out to the point where I only lost one ball on the back non! Beautiful course to go to on a sunny evening.
