From bad to worse

Never been a great course but played today and its a disaster. No definiton between fairway and semi rough, and its a mud bath. Bunkers are a disgrace, no etiquette ftom anyone and no marshall to be seen. A dress code is required yet most people were in jeans and tracksuits.nowhere to clean your shoes. No one lets you play through.noone cares about the course clearly, its just a park with a few holes here and there. Tee markers are at front of every tee box, the mats are muddy and uneven. A crying shame and not worth the money.

Tees like a swamp, greens not much better, dog mess all around paths.
No practice putting green. Worth going if your don't pay.

This course is an atrocity. Giving them their dues there is a lot of development work going on and it may improve when completed - I never played it before it started - although currently still charging full price and you'd do better diiging your own putting holes in the local park.

I haven't been playing at all that long and am quietly pleased to have got my handicap down to 28, saying this I should be pleased to have a choice of holes to putt into on the greens......(no joke, 3 on some of them....they seem to have moved them and not pluged the old ones - flag stick still fits in whichever one you fancy).....not to mention the general logistics of the holes to accomodate said building works....

No driving range at present - though building one.

A combination of my bad golf and a bloody awful course made for a pretty miserable day.

Receptionist was very friendly - ensured I entered the free four ball ballot - wouldn't go back if it was free.

The 1st and 9th holes have been dug up to put in a driving range (apparently they will adding a new 1st and remodelling the 9th when completed in 7 months) so have had to shoe horn 9 holes into the space of 7. Means the par 5 and long par 4 have been split into a par 4/ par 3 and two par 3s respectively with temporary greens. I wont be playing here again until the building work is complete as its now a glorified pitch and putt

tee boxes need some love but the greens and the fairways were in pretty good nick, and for a public 9 hole, it's got some variety

Ok course - value for money

Tight course makes it difficult to play. Course is in a fairly ok condition considering how cheap it is to play there. Definately a course to warm up on before going somewhere nice.

the course is still recovering from the hot summer , so it's still patchy , there are a lot of leaves on the course and losing balls on a good shot is highly likely .

This course has suffered recently partly due to bad weather but mainly due to lack of staff and management issues. However as a member I am sure that the attitude of the current on course management will b ring this course back to its former good condition.
