What the club says: Designed by world famous course architect James Braid in 1904, Barnehurst was built within the grounds of the historic Barnehurst Manor House, of which remains are still integrated into the layout of several holes. Whilst being 9 holes, there are different tees for the front and back nine holes, making for an interesting round 18 hole round.

Chose the wrong day
The course was playable but very boggy which was a shame. Hopefully they will work on getting the course up to scratch when the wet weather finally takes a break

A short 9 hole course with a handful of tricky holes. Tee boxes a bit scrappy but otherwise, not bad condition. Friendly staff.

Nice local course
My closest course and good for an afternoon nine holes but can see it's been run down as it's being sold again which is a great shame and hopefully they will find new owners soon ????

Always enjoy it at Barnehurst. Needs a bit of tidying up, greens are improving. Someone has stolen the sand from bunkers. Tee areas poor. For the price I am happy others probably won't be.

This is a newly opened course 9 holes but is getting there in terms of condition. The recent dry weather is making tees and fairways very dry but some greens were quite good but some are being repaired and not great, however it is improving

From bad to worse
Never been a great course but played today and its a disaster. No definiton between fairway and semi rough, and its a mud bath. Bunkers are a disgrace, no etiquette ftom anyone and no marshall to be seen. A dress code is required yet most people were in jeans and tracksuits.nowhere to clean your shoes. No one lets you play through.noone cares about the course clearly, its just a park with a few holes here and there. Tee markers are at front of every tee box, the mats are muddy and uneven. A crying shame and not worth the money.

It is a good beginners course
It is a good beginners course, and will definitely play there again. Greens are well maintained only problem some of the longer grass areas make it hard to find a ball.

tee boxes need some love but the greens and the fairways were in pretty good nick, and for a public 9 hole, it's got some variety

Ok course - value for money
Tight course makes it difficult to play. Course is in a fairly ok condition considering how cheap it is to play there. Definately a course to warm up on before going somewhere nice.
