What the club says: The course, a par 69 over 5800 yards long, never plays the same on morning and afternoon rounds, so don’t expect an easy day. Take a look at some of the Super Challenges that face you in the rolling meadow land at Barlaston.
OK! Nearly forgot to mention the water. It’s there to greet you between the Second and Fifth, and is no friend to the slicers, hookers, or wayward drivers. It’s not just the Trent to the left, but the ponds and ditches you meet on the way. Now, we come to the hard part,
SWAMPY !!!!, a 418 yards dog leg left with a difference. It’s a brave shot for the lower handicapper to the delightful green. And still the same challenge for the high handicapper with his third.
Then there’s the Lake, just waiting to catch you out. If it doesn’t, then make your way to the splendid green that awaits you.
Talking of greens, that’s what we are proud of at Barlaston, every one a delight, and maintained to the highest standard.

Hidden gem in Staffs
A wonderful course to play golf on. Enjoy gorgeous views of this lovely part of the country and have fun whilst trying to hit good shots. The 5 or so holes opening holes are all about choosing to get to the "correct side" of the fairway to set up your next shot free of trees and of ditches. Avoid the ponds, ditches and slopes to the right and left and you will have had a good round. Rain sort of spoilt the first few holes but what a course and a friendly bunch. I would love to play it again. The team there are ambitious and are making use of their opportunities to better the course. I would strongly recommend this venue as a good one to introduce your society to.Reviewer Rating

Enjoy playing here, but course was quite wet today some temporary tees. Food and drink is ok, quite a friendly club, chat with members. Grass was too long in places difficulty finding balls just off the fairways.

great course very well maintained. Some good challenging holes along side so slightly easier holes and a couple of card wreckers!! would highly recommend playing here.

Good course. You have to think before teeing off on a number of holes. Big hitters could easily run out of room especially on some of the holes on the front 9.

Good to be back, a tight course in places, a little run on the fairways even though wet.
Greens were very good , cut short but true.

Course was having some drainage work done on it so not really enjoyable to play at this time will not be too long before it’s back to normal condition

Beautiful Course
Played in a Pairs competition here and was very impressed with the course. Lovely fairways and quick greens, water in play on most holes, all of which were different.I will return to play again, hopefully better.

Very enjoyable round, having returned after four years. Some of the greens had bare patches in places but the course has some great holes. We will return when the kitchen refurbishment is complete.
