Have played here regularly in past, once was a member. Problems encountered then still exist. Members, only some, seem unaware of the etiquette in golf. Playing in a two ball, held up by a 4 ball group of Vets. Normally a well organised two tee start, depending on start time, prevents this happening but due to a Veterans Match all starters were led to the Tenth tee.
As we came off the 9th green 4 ball groups were queuing on the next tee. We were let through, thankfully, and started off down the fairway only to be held up by group in front. Standing on the 12th tee, the club chairman came and spoke to us, welcomed us to the course but said 'be patient, the group in front are known for not looking back'. How true that was!
Shame it happened but it is an all too familiar scene here. That said, would still recommend the course.

Ashford is a good course with a variety of hazards, the onlything that spoils it is that some of the members think they own the course,and thier golf etiquette leaves alot to the imagination

Weather was bad, windy with rain. course was a little worn in places but played well considering. An old style club with some challeging holes and not for the wayward

Nice course, good variety of hole layouts. Well maintained. A bit "Old School" in attitude, ie "no trainers in the club house, cap must be worn with the peak forward, but this did not detract from the enjoyment of the golf.Reviewer Rating

considering the weather lately in really good condition - greens were fast and in fantastic shape. Green keepers doing an amazing job of clearing leaves as well. Some bunkers not great but its been very wet

Keeps Getting Better
A lot of thought and effort has been invested in this course over recent years and it shows. The condition of the tees and fairways is great and the speed of the regularly ironed greens adds a new dimension to a course which always required careful management to avoid the natural hazards which await the unwary.Reviewer Rating

Course in great condition, hopefully play here again soon, course was very quite apart from the last couple of holes where unfortunately you can hear the motorway

Challenging but fair for all abilities
The course was pretty good condition considering we've had very little rain in the last month or two. Greens had clearly been well watered with no patches.(Round played: Jul 2018 - Score: 96 Handicap: 21.5)

Course well set up, very good condition; even, quickish greens; cut grass left on the fairways a disappointment. Some tee boxes had the info regarding length, stroke index etc., at such a position that it could not be read when approaching, or even on the tee eg. the 10th. No facilities on the course eg. a half-way house, also a disappointment. Every par 3 is a tough hole. Overall, a very good course around which one must plot each shot.
