Great value golf
Only a tenner gets you a good round of golf.Tees fairways and greens in very good condition.Clubhouse very friendly and welcoming.Nothing to say against the golf club at all(Round played: Jul 2018 - Score: 80 Handicap: 16)

Course is nice and a good challenge, be nice if buggies were available, as its hilly, Main issue is the course is in a park, full of dogs and people, who show no care in the world while working across the fairways and greens. If it was a club course, it would be excellent

Shorter than average course but situated on hills, making for a physically challenging game. Course condition reasonable though wet after recent rains. Numerous tee shots over valleys. Bunkers not well maintained. Public footpaths well used by walkers can make for some hazardous encounters.

Very tricky course with many challenging holes.
First time for nearly a year and pleased with the performance and the course was kept very. The greens were very good and at some holes very hard to judge.

We have played Allestree a few times at different times of the year, pro shop guys always friendly, course can catch you out if your off form, some good par 3's where you need to hit the green, also long par 5 which is 520 yards !!
The only thing that we don't like is the amount of dog walkers, but as it's a council run course / parkland I guess to be expected.

This a great local authority run course, very long and some good long holes, uphill and down Dale. Nice little pro shop for those last minute things you often forget. Course was in great condition when we played. Just be careful as a few tees and green quite close so watch out for the stray shot. Course would benefit from a few more bins, ball cleaners, 150 markers and signage to next tee on some holes I think would help. Overall fantastic value for money.

Course is set in a public park so expect people walking dogs over the fairways but a very nice course some nice holes and very nice views, greens are slow but still nice to play for a municipal course it ranks very high. With some work on the greens and the clubhouse it could be a top course

This is one of my favourite courses.
Hope you are fit as hilly and you wont get many even fairways.
A good rainge of holes with none the same.
I would recommend this course for any type of golfer.
Great course and great views,

The course is a beautifully maintained and cared for course. Even as a municiple and the hammering that it takes with hackers and non too careful golfers.
The club house is opened intermittently. Always closed mondays and wednesdays and usually only open between 11 and 3 the other 5 days!
The shop staff and green staff are knowledgable and work hard to make your golfing day better.

Harry Colt original design
Municipal golf course closed by its local authority owners despite it being a very popular and busy golf course used by thousands. Designed by Harry Colt and unchanged since it left his drawing board in 1929 . A very special venue destroyed unnecessarily by its current guardians without any consideration of its potential value or history.Reviewer Rating
