What the club says: This mature parkland course has an undulating landscape and tree-lined fairways, making every hole a testing but fair challenge. The course started in 1948 with nine holes and increased to eighteen in 1955. Its total length is now 5806 yards. It is operated on a Derby City
Council municipal course

Too many temp tees and greens in play - Apr 5 2017
Golfshake Team Review
On paper a shortish course, but lots of changes of elevation make it pretty hard work. A municipal course kept in good condition despite it being a public park. Suffers from the lack of refinements, ball washers, yardage markers and the like and it can get very muddy. Having said that, I'm convinced that if this course was in private hands it would be one of the best in the country (but therefore inaccessable to most of us hackers). Try it, but take plenty of balls. - Sep 18 2006
Golf Course Reviews for Allestree Park Golf Club
Lovely course on the outskirts of Derby.
For the money this is great. Always seems to be in decent condition. Not a long course but you certainly know you?ve walked it with all the hills. It is by no means easy, greens up on banks, and two par 3 certainly require the correct shot or suffer a big score. But plently off holes can be rewarding with a good tee shot. The only thing I dislike about this course is the 8th hole, second shot to the green normally means waiting for the 18th tee box to be clear. Apart from this little niggle it is a fantastic course to play.
Only a tenner gets you a good round of golf.Tees fairways and greens in very good condition.Clubhouse very friendly and welcoming.Nothing to say against the golf club at all

definitely worth a visit fantastic views course in very good condition
Played in a two ball on Saturday morning. Weather excellent and course in good condition. Pace of play good as not many players on the course before 9am. Clubhouse staff very welcoming. Good basic food after the round.
Very good course for the money? Some of the hills are not for the faint hearted! Beware of dog walkers! Otherwise a very good course for the money

Course drying out very nicely. Good length rough and plenty of trees for me to get lost in!

Bearing in mind recent wet weather the course was in great condition. Full summer tees and greens. Greens need to be shortened to increase speed but staff have been avoiding damage during wet weather. Great value at ?10pp all day, and ?5pp after 1700 on twilight.
Shame that all tees and greens were on temporary when some were very playable

Great undulating and challenging course with very friendly members. Made to feel welcome whilst out on the course and afterwards in the bar for a quick pint!
(Round played: Feb 2018 - Score: 122 Handicap: 22.5)
Great course for the price, well maintained and a great place to play.
(Round played: Dec 2017 - Score: 78 Handicap: 20.7)
Interesting and challenging holes, with a number of elevated tees. Steep slopes so electric trolly very handy. Greens are of a high standard considering the course is also exposed to the public. Food and drink facilities lacking and closed on some days of the week. Paid ?12 for mid week round, so great value for money.

Played on Saturday morning. Course good, greens and fairways in great condition. Pint and a chip cob in the clubhouse after. All at a reasonable price.
