Love this course

Only 11 holes on this course so you play some twice from different tees. Well set out. All the better for the new 3rd hole, a par 5. Great condition. Only 400 yards from my front door, considering going at some point when we are back to normal.

Fantastic course, and the greens are mint!

I heard there was a new head greenkeeper that was appointed this year and has made massive improvements on the course so i decided to play, i really enjoyed my round and i can see a huge change in the way its run now, all the staff were nice and helpful, everything was immaculate and the greens were the best I’ve played on around this area, cant wait to play again

Value for money

I have recently joined Alfreton as a full member and for the £700 membership price I have to say it’s worth every penny compared to other clubs around this premium. The club from what I hear have recently appointed a new Course manager and deputy which results have already been shown also a huge investment is being made to turn this golf course into a full 18 hole, exciting times ahead for the club.
Well worth a visit.

Must Play

Not what I was expecting ! .... This was my first visit to Alfreton golf club and I must say what a well presented gem this place really is. Based on the torrential weather we have recently had the course was immaculate, greens running fast and true and fairways defined. It’s a must play !
I will most definitely be returning.

Very tight

A very tight course, greens were lightening fast and very difficult to stop a ball on. Still a very enjoyable round of golf. Makes you think

Good value

Good Condition, especially the greens, only criticism, is thet there are 11 holes and not always clear especially at 6-7 where you need to go, took us a good few minutes to figure it out. Could do with a few more signs.

A rather individual course with 11 actual holes so you play the first 11 and then the first 5 again followed by the original 8 and 9 holes. A short course with lots of trees and quite tight drives that punish wayward shots. The 7th hole is a killer hill and very pleased we only had to play it once. Nice and friendly club that welcomes visitors and seem keen to attract new members.

A course that rewards good course management and accuracy over distance. Greens and fairways in good condition. Difficult course for first timer, would benefit from a strokesaver. Several blind tee shots, and depth of greens difficult to gauge. Was wary of the 11 holes,18 tees aspect (route explained by friendly Pro Shop) but not an issue today. Not sure if on a busy day. Would be disappointed if a second visit didnt produce a better score (ahem !)

A nice friendly welcome at the club house. Very nice bacon sandwich with hot drink. The steward explained well the slight "peculiarities" of playing 18 holes on a 11 hole course. The course was drying out and in reasonable condition for the time of year.

Very strange. Allowed to book tee time over phone, as no competitions on. Upon arrival told several members wanted to nip out before or tee time. Then told if anyone asked, we had been allowed to play because we are considering becoming members. When we went down to the first tee just before our tee time there were about 2 dozen people waiting to tee off. I\'d much sooner have been turned away then shoved in the middle of this mental members free for all. Ended up stuck behind the slowest 4 ball, waiting on every tee, did not let us through. Most of the 7 alternative tees offer no difference from the first tees, being slightly behind or to the side. Course was in lovely condition. Won\'t be hurrying back.
