Lynx Love Story Ad Airs on TV Tonight

By: Golf Shake | Fri 28 Feb 2014

Golf fans watching SkySports today will be treated to a golf course love story - thanks to innovative UK manufacturer Lynx.

The company's new TV advertising campaign features a romance between two young golfers set against the stunning backdrop of the East Sussex National Resort.

Filled with humour and a huge feelgood factor - alongside a sensational soundtrack from music composer Adam Easton - the television advert is unlike any other golf ad.

Said Lynx Golf's Stephanie Zinser: "We didn’t want to ‘hero’ any single product. We didn’t want to stick our sales message in people’s faces. We didn’t want the obvious, done in a tired and repetitious way.  Golf has seen enough of that.

"So in making the ad, we wanted to offer a sense of who we are, what we do and most importantly how we want to do it.

"We love golf. We love people.  We love life and the fun it can bring. We want our products to form part of the enjoyment that golf brings, and we want more people to try this fabulous sport."

So the #LynxLoveStory was born.

In collaboration with the award-winning production company Zebra Crossing, Lynx constructed a brief, auditioned a cast and filmed the advert over three days within the beautiful grounds of East Sussex National Resort.

Directed by Nic Franklin and Mark Dymond, produced by Nicola Martin and beautifully photographed by Joel Anderson, the idea was hatched in direct collaboration with Steve Elford and Stephanie, the owners of Lynx.

The weather was bitterly cold for the duration of filming but the production team and the actors did a superb job, performing under all conditions to produce a beautiful piece of work.

Added Stephanie: "The reason we chose East Sussex National was because of their stunning scenery, amazing facilities and incredibly helpful staff – for which we continue to extend our warmest thanks.

"And we were delivered weather that suited our scenes perfectly, from spring-like sunshine to relentless, driving rain and back again to magical mist hovering  elegantly above the treetops.

Of the Project, Zebra’s Nic Franklin said: “It’s always great working with Steve and Steph because they are never scared to depart from the beaten track and to do something different.

"They are passionate about their brand and the people that make up their team - and for a few days we are part of that team, which is fabulous!

"We were lucky enough to have Carl Proctor cast the ad for us and we found our perfect pair, Tom Child and Rebecca Birch who lit up the screen and captured the essence of our love story perfectly!”

The ad campaign is also linked to social media. Golfers who share their own love stories on the @LynxGolfUK official Twitter Page with the hashtag #LynxLoveStory have a chance to win prizes from the company.
