White Golf Drivers

By: Adam Smith | Mon 24 Oct 2011

Released into the market at the end of last year white headed drivers have become ever more popular both on tour and on the amateur circuit.

Opinion has been divided ever since as is pretty much any golf club that gets released, so what is it about these white drivers?

Golfshake gives you a non-opinionated view on what white drivers are out there for you and what the manufacturers’ say about them:

TaylorMade R11

The most popular white headed club to be released was the TaylorMade R11. The R11 Driver is a truly consumer unique golf club, designed to be as adjustable as possible to fit the needs and requirements of each individual golfer. The more a driver is tuned to you, the farther you'll hit it. With R11's 3D Tuning, you can independently tune loft, face angle and flight path to your swing to maximize your distance. Only R11 is this adjustable. Only R11 gives you this much control over your distance. The TaylorMade Golf R11 Driver, aimed at golfers of all levels of experience, will easily become your favourite golf club, whilst improving your game.

World number one Luke Donald, Sergio Garcia and Dustin Johnson to name a few all have an R11 in their bag.

Cobra ZL

Cobra Golf's Limited Edition ZL Driver, an all-white model loaded with the company's latest technology and an upgraded premium shaft. This driver is sure to be in demand this holiday season.

Only 500 of the Limited Edition ZL Drivers are available globally, and each is individually marked with a production serial number. The Limited Edition ZL Driver utilizes advanced multi-material construction and Adjustable Flight Technology and is paired with a high performance Fujikura Motore Speeder shaft. This exclusive product is ideal for the accomplished player who wants a collectible driver with Tour-calibre performance.

Ian Poluter first used the ZL at the 2010 World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions event in Shanghai.

As with the original ZL Driver, the Limited Edition ZL Driver features an optimized, traditional club head shape that maximizes distance, accuracy and forgiveness. Its multi-material construction includes the lightweight carbon fibre crown and sole, complemented by a 6-4 titanium club head body and clubface contributing to higher ball speeds and maximum distance. The clubface utilizes Cobra's patented 9 Point Face Technology, bolstered by a milled rhombus, laser-welded face insert plus a thin titanium perimeter.

Cobra S3

This exclusive product is ideal for the accomplished player who wants to play a technologically advanced driver with Tour-calibre performance. It offers golfers outstanding forgiveness, along with superior distance and accuracy. The White S3 Driver features the revolutionary, patent-pending E9 Face Technology that expands Cobra's Sweet Zone™ by 30 percent, taking into account all areas where golfers hit the ball on the clubface, to make it the smartest clubface in the market.

MD Seve Icon White

The Titanium woods feature added weight in the perimeter of the club to maximise stability and produce straighter tee shots. All woods are fitted with the Tour proven Proforce 65 shaft in red, silver and black. The club is finished with an exceptionally high quality PVD coating.

Geek Golf White DOT COM THIS Driver

Strange name but The white GEEK GOLF DOT COM THIS is a forged head with a proprietary weight added directly behind the ball in the rear of the club skirt. The club head also features an integrated energy power slot on both sides of the head to compliment the weighting power bulge in the rear of club.

The white GEEK GOLF DOT COM THIS is designed to decrease spin off the club head and as such will launch the ball lower than the stated loft. For slower swing speed players, pick a loft higher than you would normally play. The resulting ball flight will be more boring with a flatter trajectory and more roll!

The paint is a Limited Edition White Pearl Finish with Red and Blue accents.

Palm Springs E2i

Continuing the alignment-aiding trend for white woods, the E21 Driver features a fetching white, non-glare crown with aerodynamic head shape and deep 2.25” black clubface.

Everything about the club is designed to help the beginner or improving player – the oversized 460cc Titanium Matrix head provides maximum forgiveness and explosive power. The lightweight, precision-balanced graphite shaft helps to generate increased clubhead speed.

This superlight head, combined with a huge sweetspot and high Moment of Inertia (MOI), leads to more reliable and straighter drives, even on off-centre hits. A high-modulus graphite shaft has been designed with game-improvers in mind and provides easy energy transfer from the swing into the ball via its strategically placed kick-point.
