Kaymer Caddying at La Manga on LETEuropean Tour number one Martin Kaymer stopped off at La Manga Club last week to check out the golf courses and to do a spot of caddying.

Fresh from sealing the European Tour’s ‘Race to Dubai’ title in the Middle East, Kaymer made a surprise appearance at La Manga Club to support his girlfriend, Allison Micheletti, as she pursued her dream of becoming a professional golfer on the Ladies European Tour.

An impressive field turned out at La Manga Club, which is an official candidate venue for the hosting of the 2015 Solheim Cup matches.

Kaymer’s appearance had an immediate impact as Micheletti recovered from a first-round 89 to record rounds of 76, 75 and 77 respectively. However it wasn’t enough to secure a place in Q School Final Stage, which will be held back at La Manga Club from December 15-19.

Two Swedes passed the pre-qualifying stage with flying colours: Caroline Hedwall returning an 11-under-par total, with Louise Larsson four shots back on seven under par.

La Manga Club is a great supporter of women’s golf holding many prestigious events, including the LET Access Tour’s Murcia Open and Ladies European Tour Qualifying School. It is also the official overseas resort partner of the English Women’s Golf Association.

La Manga Club boasts unrivalled facilities as a sport and leisure resort including three 18-hole championship golf courses, a 28-court tennis centre and a 2,000sqm spa complex. It also offers the choice of a five-star hotel, four-star serviced apartments and townhouses, more than 20 bars and restaurants and great entertainment for children.
