Top 2 for Rife at Evian Masters

By: Adam Smith | Tue 27 Jul 2010

Jiyai Shin used her Rife 400 Mid Mallet to roll in a birdie putt on the 72nd hole at the LPGA/LET Evian Masters this weekend. That putt secured a 1 shot victory for Shin and propelled her back to the top of the ladies world rankings.

Having started the day in second place, Shin lived up to the nickname that the Korean media has given her – ‘The final round queen.’ Shin sank 3 birdies in a front 9, 33 and followed it up with another 2 for an inward 34. Battling all the way to the last with Morgan Pressel – Shin holed an 8ft putt for birdie at the 18th before seeing Pressel’s slightly shorter putt slip past the hole.

Surpassing Shin’s final round score by 1 shot was Na Yeon Choi, who rolled her Rife Abaco to a final round 66. For the second tournament running, Choi finished tied for second place as her final round efforts left her 1 shot adrift of Shin.

Once again, Rife Putters has had an incredible weekend on the Ladies Tour. In what is considered by some to be the 5th Women’s major, Rife was the second most used putter at the Evian Masters. Without paying a single player, Rife has once again proven that when the pressure is on in the biggest tournaments, the best players in the world can rely on a Rife.

Men’s Tours

Rife Putters also had a successful weekend on the PGA and Champions Tours. At the senior British Open, Rife saw Fred Funk (Barbados), and Peter Senior (2 Bar Hybrid Mallet) tie for 3rd place at 1 under and Ian Woosnam (2 Bar Hybrid Mallet) tie for 8th.

Over at the RBC Canadian Open on the PGA tour, Matt Kuchar rolled his Rife Barbados to a tie for 4th place, consolidating his 7th place in the USA Ryder Cup rankings. A few more solid performances could well see Kuchar and his Barbados secure an automatic spot on the plane to Celtic Manor later this year.

Once again, each of these players has chosen to play Rife Putters, and does not receive a single penny to do so.
